Hello All,

Well, my name says it all, but I am here because I am looking for some information, and a search hasn't revealed anything so far. I am looking for some detailed information about how the RX-7 twin turbo system works. I think stock they are a sequential design, and often times, people change them to parallel or single. I am really interested in the sequential and parallel information.

Thanx

Michael

how detailed do you wanna get?

i can give you the gist of it

first turbo spools and at 4500rpm, it feeds the second turbo to spool it and from there on they spool in tandem.

if you modify them for parallel, they are spooling in tandem from the beginning and there is no transition point

Thanx for the warm welcome,

I have always been in love with the FD, from the first time I saw it, but unfortunately for me, family forces me to have more then a 2 seater, and I just don't have the money, yet, for a second car.

As for the description, thanx for the information so far, but I did want to get a little more technical.

How is the boost control accomplished. How is the exhaust gas diverted from the trubos. Is it a valve, or something else. WHat type of turbos does the twin use. What does the exhaust manifold (It is called an exhaust manifold right, even though there are no postons) look like, and what does the down pipe or pipes look like. Where are the turbos in relation to the engine.

I ask cause I have an idea for my WRX, and I just want to think things through, and gather as much info as I can before I even approach it.

Thanx

Michael

P.S. I just wanted to let you know that I foudn this place thru Speedoptions.com. I work there, and am head of the Online Auto Salon. As you know, one of your members won some nice cash from us. I hope you guys come back and represent this time.
