What the hell? Off topic??

Welcome to nopistons Matt. Where do you live at in Maryland? You commute to NoVa so I am guessing Southern MD?? Nice to see new faces around here.

Seems you are taking the right steps, and have done reasearch on FD's. Good luck.

Thank you, and no worries on the hijack, these things happen.. All though I must say I'm not used to seeing introduction threads taken over

I actually live in Frederick, right down the road from a few others on the forum. I was surprised to see 2 or 3 other members form my area, as I rarely see RX7s on the road around here. I commute to Chantilly, VA - 10 minutes south of Dulles International Airport.

I've always wanted to build a FD, loved them since I saw one for the first time on a Mazda showroom floor in '94. I've been in the racing scene since 1997 starting with a '97 Eclipse GS-T. During that time period I have heard, what I now know as, a lot of misconceptions and basically B.S. pertaining to the rotary. It's amazing what people think they know about them, compared to the reality of the situation. While I'm not trying to start a conversation on Apex seals, that seems to be the area people know the least about - and talk like they know the most about. I'll just leave it at that For the past couple months I've dug deep, and in attempting to seperate fact from opinion on the forums, believe I've learned a lot to get me going. I'm really looking forward to getting started on this, and hopefully being up and running in time for the beginning of the 2006 race season.

You are known as a Fredneck! Heh, just joking.

You should post up an introduction in the Northeast forum, to better know Bobby, Ernie, and Dee up in Frederick(if you don't already).

I too am in the market for an FD, but am patiently waiting for the right one with ALL the money to have it paid off. No loan bullcraph to deal with.

Yeah, Fredneckian I am

All ready spoke to Bobby via. PM a week or so ago. Dropped a response on the Northeast forum about 75/80 as well.

That's why I'm waiting as well, buying one cash. Have most of it now, but won't have the full amount ($13k) until December or January. Better to buy sports cars during those months anyway. Better availability and pricing. I don't race cars that have leins on them any more. Learned the hard way about that with my Eclipse many years ago. I also don't put parts or mods on credit, more experience talking. I think I'm still paying for Mustang parts, and I sold that car 2 years ago

Where in Maryland are you from?
