I am new to your forum as I just found out about it googling. I am a part of 4 rotary forums now, so I will always have something to read and something to learn.

Anyway I have an 86 rex that got broken into and I got my pass window busted (the tint I had on there kept the glass from going everywhere) and my door was wounded pretty bad (but fixable) from the assault with a crow bar. While I was in search for a pass window and the exterior window-to-door strip of metal, I found a 91 n/a for sale for $100 form a guy who just needed the space. The car had been hit on the front left by an escalade just hard enough to bend the frame out of commision, so the front left suspension is now a steel pretzel, literaly. The engine was good, it had a $1500 custom 3" all the way exaust, and most importantly a pass window. I am going to be gutting the car and its mostly intact beside the interior parts I will remove. the car has the circle tailights, and the are in good condition, minus the left rear turn signal is missing the lens. Those are for sale, for sure. You guys can make on offer on those, and if there is anything else you want just ask.

I am going to be rebuilding that engine, and I will be putting that exaust on my car.

Which leads me to a question. I know a fair amount about how rotarys work, So I think I know what to do here, but im just not sure.

The way I understand it the 5th and 6th ports open the way and the time they do based on back pressure. I am pretty sure the exaust I am putting on is straight 3 inch all the way, which means low back pressure. Should I wire my 5/6 open all the time?

Welcome to nopistons. Check out the for sale section, you'll get more hits there from people looking to buy parts.

welcome to np...

also, if your putting on a straight exhuast, you can tap it for your back pressure, wiring isnt a great idea, but if needed, you will lose power in lower rpms.

Welcome to the forum, and you acquired an 89-91 RX-7. It would have been sweet if it was a TII!!!
