I was into v8's (specifically old mopars), and had a pump gas, very mild combination 11.80 440 barracuda up to about 8 years ago. I sold almost everything and got out, too many people thinking their rusted out pos was destined for the Barret Jackson auctions.

I've got the itch again, and decided to switch to something else, something i've always admired-rotarys. I made this name because I want to find a decent RX3 to build up, and will keep looking until I find one.

I just bought a '85 GSL-SE RX7 to play with until then. It runs/drives fine, has a pretty solid body with only a small amount of rust starting behind the passenger wheel arch, nothing major. Interior is needing a little work, some of the plastic pieces are sun damaged and the seats are torn.

The owner liked the original wheels and made a big deal about this car having them, so we worked out a deal for him to keep them and put just some steel wheels on it, and drop the price a bit. I paid $1500 for it, he wanted $1800 with the wheels. Good deal? Not sure what a GSL-SE should be worth, but I knew it had the 13b which I knew was worth having over a 12a. Pics soon.

Welcome

GSL-SE was the top of line model with fuel injection. That car is pretty fast because of its weight and gear ratios.

Here it is as I just brought it home today, I think it's decent for $1600.

Needs to have the drivers rear tire resealed, as it sat on a flat for quite awhile. On the way home it started cutting out and dying under a load after about 15 minutes. I think it's overheating, might be water pump? Belts are worn and dried out but seem to be working for the moment. Has a new fuel pump and filter, replaced by previous owner so I could test drive it. I ended up giving him $100 to keep the stock wheels, and he'll buy them back when I get my aftermarket ones.

Cool car man, I seen A FB this morning on my way to work. Kinda took me by surprise because I though I knew of all the 7s in my town. Been looking for one myself, But seem to be hard to find in decent shape in WNC. Anyways welcome to the realm of Rotorheads, You will find that there is more sincere kinship among Rotorheads. These engines are different, and once you get the bugs worked out, you will enjoy the car. if not, I'll take it!
