What's up fella's. My name is Jason. I'm 21, in the Air Force, and usually stationed at Misawa Air Base in Northern Japan, but I'm currently deployed to SW Asia in support of OEF. I'm here for 2 months so far, 4 more to go. I've been at Misawa since December of '03. I bought a 1991 Nissan Skyline GTR in Sept of 2005. About 2 weeks before I left to come here to the desert I pulled the 4wd fuse and proceeded to try my hand at drifting. Well, the car is banged up now and it's time for a change of view. The opportunity to own an FD has presented itself, and I'm in the process of picking up a Red 93 R1. So even though I dont own an FD yet, I thought I'd drop by and gather all the knowlege that I can about the 13B and the FD chassis. I'm a part owner of Hipertekspeed.com I use the same screenname on there, so if you want to see some pictures of my ride, they're on there.

Here's a pic of what my GTR currently looks like.

Well, I guess I'm about to dive into a whole new world of automobiles, but more knowlege is always better

Thanks. Yeah, the GTR is everything and more. The car is such a pleasure to drive, but I have come to the conclusion that I cannot bring it back to the states with me at the end of my tour in Japan. And with the amount of money that I was planning on putting into it, it just didnt make sense. At least with the FD, I can ship all my parts back and throw them on a USDM FD chassis.

nope, I actually did it at the misawa fishport, in the area of miss vedol beach. I take it you used to be stationed in Misawa.

I cant say where I'm at, but it's not in Iraq, but still in the AOR. I deployed to Baghdad last time though

Nice choice! Love that R32! I came to a similar turning point in my life about a year ago. An FD or an R32 GT-R so far I have not regretted my decision. Your car seems like it is not in that bad of shape. You may consider bringing it over. What state are you from? I import GT40’s from south Africa. All those import laws are just the U.S. government’s way to get you to buy ford or GM but there are loopholes . Whatever way you go I am sure you will be happy. Both are great cars but they are both very different Good luck!

I hope not. I love the GTR, it's such a great car, but I want something new. I know I'll feel the same way in a few months once I get back to Japan and get to drive my new car. I have 2 good friends back in Misawa that have grown up around the 13B. One has an FC back in Florida, the other one has an FD back in Texas and an FC in Misawa. They're really jealous of me now. God I cant wait to get back to Japan and drive it!!

BTW....I'm from VA. I dont know how strict our laws are concerning the importation of cars. I'll have to check their DOT website and pull up some documents.

Thanks for the welcome guys!!
