Hey guys,

I am looking into buy a rx-8 that my friend is selling.

But I got hell a lotta questions to ask you guys before i purchase it!

here it goes...

First off, its 04 rx-8 GT he said, full option just no navigation system.

about 8000 miles.

What does "GT" package include?

I will add pics at the bottom.

its got veilside bodykit and Carbon fiber hood.

It looks nice... but the thing is

one of his headlight is out! and fender needs to be fixed,

I am not sure how bad the impact was. he got hit from side.

not sure if bodykit needs to be replaced.

yea I know its better, if i go look at the car but the car is about 4 hours away.

how much does it cost to get a headlight and fender?

Where can I get them cheap?

what kind of gas does rx-8 recommedned? 92?

gas money matters to me.... lol

seems like there are a couple recalls on this 04 RX-8

what are they?

Well, right now i have 92 nissan 240sx convertible in a perfect condition.

probably going to sell it. if i get this.

it was my project car for silvia. but... my friend is giving it to me for real cheap.

I can not pass on this deal....

here are some pics of rx-8

once again,

how much does it cost to get a headlight and fender?

Where can I get them cheap?

I need you guys help on this!

help this rx-8 newbie out.

thanks fellas,

-K

try Onlinemazdaparts.com, talk to Jason, he is a good guy, he can give you good price estimate on the headlight, and maybe an unpainted fender. you might want to look at it, see how bad the damage is, and maybe a body shop can fix it.

yes, there have been a couple of recalls. there are also plenty of TSB's out on it. Talk to the current owner, ask them which ones have been taken care of. If they are diligent at upkeep on their car at all, they will know which recalls they have gone to the dealership about. If they are not, I would be suspect of buying that car anyway. The 8 requires a fair amount of attention from it's owner to ensure that it stays in good running condition.

So far, the recalls are pretty simple, and straightforward, nothing like spontaneous combustion, or catastrophic failure.

they really are, they get a lot of bad press about being a PITA to own. But in the 2 years and 7 months that I have owned mine, it has been pretty easy. I guess most people find it annoying that you can't crank it up, back it out of the garage and shut it down, or that you have to check the oil at every other fill up. i don't.
