Hi everyone! my name's Felix and I live in Canada (lol). I'll soon buy a rx7 FD but I don't know much about rotary engines. I heard a lot of people telling me that the 13B was ****, and that rotary engines in general were ****! but I thougt that I would go and see for myself why some people likes them! I also came here to learn everything I can about the 13B https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

cya on the forum!

Hey welcome to nopistons. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

Did the ppl that said rotaries are **** actualy ever own one?

If your just getting into rotary cars I wouldn't dive into getting a fd right away.

Maybe start with a non turbo or turbo fc. Easier to work on and alot cheaper.

Then go for it man don't let what I told you scare you. Just ask around and read up before getting one.

I used to want a fd and still do, just could never afford one... yet! I like all the body styles though.

Good luck man & when you do get one take good care of it. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.gif

ahah thx! https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif and you can be sure that i'll take good care of it! it's such a nice car (well from what I saw https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR ) and about the price, I could never afford a USDM one because they are rougly 25 000USD here in Canada, but i'll import one from japan and it will cost me round ~9000USD for a 1992 Type S https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.gif so it's cool!

lol...nothing shittty about a rotary, i don't know too many 1.3L motors that can put out this kind of power, If you are picking up an fd, I must insist that you become a maintenence *****, do your research and find out why, but I think you will be pleased with all the hard work in the long run.....quite a fun car

WOW...you're first person named Felix that I seen that owns a Rx7 LOL

Dont take a fd as a walk in the park...save up a bit more than just spending all your pennies on one..they are need of high maintenance..regularly.

Where in canada are you?

ok https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif i'm quite scared...about the maintenance..I used to want a Supra or a Skyline R32 which are said to be virtually indestructible...but they cost like 1.5x the price of an RX7...

1 year later and I still doesnt have it ! lol, I'm importing a car from japan in august, just havent set my mind on which one yet...

Skyline R33 GTS25T (250hp, single turbo, RWD)

Supra SZ (220hp, n/a, RWD)

RX-7 FD (~275hp, TT, RWD)

it's so hard to decide lol, the Skyline is nice, performance-wise, but not really sexy IMO, then there's the supra, but it's worth more than the FD and doesnt quite match it's performances...it's not the same suspension/brakes/ECU/etc. then on the TT , and the TT is way to expensive for me. And then there's the FD which is so SEXY and is like a dream to drive (from what I heard) , but I keep hearing bad things about them, the second I say "I might get a rx7" everyone goes like "NOOOO, THEY ALWAYS BREAK, THEY ARE SHITTY, DON'T GET THAT, GET A SUPRA INSTEAD" lol https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub..._DIR#>/sad.gif and well I got a garage and i'd like to learn how rotaries work but i'm not that much confident...I never REALLY worked on an engine before...and I don't even know if I'd be able to do the reliability mods myself. Considering that here in Quebec there's like 1 or 2 rotaries shops and they are very far from where I live (300km) i'd have to work on the car all by myself....
