yes this is a newby question so i decided to put it in the new members section....what exactly is ECU...its mentioned in almost every post and it would be helpful if i knew what it was

lil 'puter in yer car that controls and monitors your car. sensors feedback to ecu and ecu makes adjustments (i.e.: air/fuel mix).



once you get to a certain point of mods, you either add "piggy-back" systems [fcd - takes out fuel cut at high rpm by tricking the stock ecu] & [afc - separate air/fuel controller... gives you control of your mixtures] or just go with a new ecu (standalone) system.



after that, you get into tuning your standalone for top performance by adjusting fuel maps and whatnot. you'll get into the hang of things pretty quick around here
