This is only my second post here (with the first just kind of announcing myself to the forums....heh), but I am looking to buy an RX-7. I am currently in talks with a private seller close by and, so far, I am in love with this car. It's a '94 RX-7 in pristine condition. It drives even better than it looks. I don't have the specifics of the modifications done, but I know that it has an Apexi RX-6 "Isamu" turbo kit, dual oil coolers, Greddy SMIC, etc.

Does it look like it would be a good buy for around $17k? I have also spoken with the mechanic that has been working on it, and he is the one that recommended to me in the first place, so I know that it has been taken care of.

Any thoughts are appreciated.

I happen to like the color, and it looks much better in person, IMO. The pictures don't do it real justice.

oh ive seen that color in person so i know what it looks like. its all personal opinion though, and even if you didnt like the color that sounds like a good price for that car.

p.s. what are the miles on the car and engine?

82,000 on the car, 9,000 on the engine.

Will tell you how many times the car was in accidents(if any). Body panels can be misaligned even on a nice body job if there have been accidents. One thing to check is to raise the hood and put the head lights up. Then lower the hood. If it catches a light on either side then you know it's been hit.

A friend had a car that was in one major accident and had 5 engines replaced. The carfax on that car is clean (no accidents). Carfax is not 100% accurate.

Get it! Especially if the mechanic recommends it, as long as the mechanic isn't a shady ******.
