So, I’ve been feeling pretty good about my car lately since my last Dyno Run . The car has been running very well. A friend of mine told me about a set of rims for sale that would fit on my car. I am planning to go to the track later this month, so I looked into them.

So, I got Four used 15x7 rims for $150.

2 New BF Goodrich Drag radials - $200 (a friend’s hook-up)

2 New Toyo Proxies (for the front) - $225

Having Instant Traction in a 370RWHP 1st Gen = Priceless.

---------------------------------------------------------------

So, On to the Story:

I just put the new rims and drag radials on the car, with the help of a friend. Literally within 20 minutes, we rolled up on this kill.

We decided to try the car out on the BFG’s while rolling down the streets, taking the LONG way to his home, looking for prey.

Time: 11:00 p.m.

Conditions: Nice, South Florida weather, about 72 degrees, Dry

Streets: completely empty streets

Boost: Set at only 12psi

Me and my buddy were going South on 117th Avenue, approaching 104th Street. As I slow down to the red light, I see a nice black W6 Trans-Am with polished aftermarket wheels.

He’s on the left hand turning lane. I was in the going “straight” lane.

I decide to back up the car, and get to his left. Obviously, this has gotten his attention. After all, what other reason would there be for me to get next to him?

So now we are both in the left turning lanes (yes, 2 of them), and he’s to my right. He’s in his late twenties, and puts the music down slowly to hear my engine. All I can hear is his nice dual exhaust coming out the rear, only slightly mumbled by my freaking loud @$$ fuel pump. He has grin on his face, kinda like the “I am gonna embarrass this ricer” face we all put on now and then.

I am sure my “A” pillar gauges, and “Got Boost” decal let him know this was no ordinary 19 year old car.

The Green arrow turns on, and we both begin to make our left turns, waiting to stomp on it. I shift into 2nd gear, mid turn, and stay in 2nd until we are both finally going straight (East) on SW 104th Street in front of MDCC.

We both even out, and are facing the same way – it’s On now!!

I hear him gun it, and hear roaring V8 clawing at the asphalt…

I return the favor and stomp on the gas myself…

WHOOooosh!!!beeeeeep as it hits the factory redline buzzer.

Quick Shift to into third, and I continue the pure acceleration.

At about 85mph, I can clearly see him in all my mirrors, at least 4-5 car lengths back.

My passenger is yelling, - “Okay, that’s enough!!” as I lay off the gas and coast to another light that just turned red up ahead. The whole “race” was a little over a quarter mile in distance, even though I let off about half-way through third gear.

Slowly, with its tail between its legs, the W6 T/A pulls up next to me on the right, with an utter look of disappointment on the driver’s face.

All he was able to mutter to me was, “That car’s pretty fast.”

You could see it on his face, it was hurting him just to say it. Like if he was gargling battery acid.

My buddy answered for me, “Thanks.”

I was ready to go again when the light turned green, but my buddy convinced me not to, stating that I had nothing else to prove.

He was right. I pulled so fast and hard on that W6, that I am still amazed. I thought he would give me a run for my money.

I really got to take this little bitch to the track and see what kind of MPH she can really do.

I love Turbo 1st Gens.

Great kill. Now go find a bigger car to kill. Work your way up untill you get beat. Then you will know your place on the "food chain".
