So I see a about a 2001 Corolla S. As I pass him he gives me the fart can rev. So I'm like ok then. We get up to the next light and take off from a stand still. First gear was all good then in second this fool started pulling away from me. I'm no expert or anything but I defintiely knew he had more than just a CAI and exhaust. A 90 GXL vs 01 Corolla S. hmmm. let's think about this one. I did a little research and found out he weighs in at 2400 lbs. and with his ricer stuff probably about 140 hp. With my CAI to make 155 hp and factory weight of 2800 lbs. I know now why I ate ****. His third gear started pulling really hard and didn't get a chance to go any further because of a car but I know he would have kept creepin away. It sucks so I guess I'm going to start doing some weight reduction and get the Haltech to help out the situation. I'm just not sure where I should begin reducing because I still have to have emissions and A/C. It's Texas... it's hot... enough said. Oh where to begin. Can't lose the fat girl cause I ain't got one, can't lose the rear seat either, and sure can't blame it on wind drag cause everything was closed. Damn the bad luck. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif

2800??? i dont think fc's weigh that much bud unless youre REAL fat hahaha yeah sorry but a stock n/a isnt very fast

Ya, sorry, Na's are slow as ****.

playincrzy 06-17-2005 06:39 PM

oh yeah the title says 2700 but that's still not comparable. I plan on upgrading to a single turbo setup within this year hopefully; none of this upgrading to a turbo II nonsense. Mine as well go all out if i plan to do it. I'm not doggin ya if you have a turbo II though, you'd beat my ass. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png just gotta wait on a settlement of 5 G's. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/BURNOUT.gif

please see the swap threads, you need to swap the engine and drivetrain, cheaper to buy a TII unless you have some godly clean body.

CrassFC3S 06-18-2005 02:58 AM

hahaha playincrzy this is the best place in the world for knowledge if you come here with an open mind, to do a "single turbo" which implies (in most cases) it was at one point twin turbo is wrong lol to turbo your 6-port n/a is ALOT more trouble and money than just doing the t2 swap, either way youre buying the whole drivetrain and instead of a standalone and tuning you can be stock for a bit for a fraction of the cost, the t2 is single turbo (sorry if that sounds mean it sounded like you didnt know this by your post) and its fairly affordable, after owning 2 n/a's i know theyre fun and pretty quick against cars in its age range and price level but its not gonna beat a brand new car... sorry.

spaceman Spiff 06-18-2005 11:20 AM

it could beat a corrola s probobly they arent that fast an 1.8t GTI walks them pretty hard.

CrassFC3S 06-18-2005 12:53 PM

well yeah a 1.8t will walk a n/a corolla but were talking about a 1991 n/a rx7 with no mods

spaceman Spiff 06-19-2005 12:12 AM

yea i just got the feeling that u were saying it would be close between a TII and the corolla but i guess not then. haha my bad
