I'll second the carcass, but not the nice looking part. Maybe the ***, but the front of an MKIV is hideous, so boring.

Yeah, Supras are only good for straight lines, dynos, and looks.

 

I used to work a guy that would autocross his Porsche all the time. He used to tell me stories of how FDs would smack the **** out of MKIV Supras all the time on the course, and how much more of a potent sports car the FD is compared to the Supra. They're just so bulky, great in a straight line, but anything else and they just can't match the FD's agility. Don't for a second ever think that I wouldn't take a 4th gen Supra (Turbo + 6spd only!) they're bad ***, and really intimidating! But I've been totally happy with my FD, and can't wait until I can spank my first Supra!

 

You beat a Supra top end? You must have some decent power because the MKIV's are built more top end on the stock trannies.

Last week at NPR, I was in attendence watching a final tune put onto a '96 MKIV single turbo automatic. It had N2O to 8 psi and all the bolt-ons. Nice wheel - tire - suspension pkg. It's a beautiful car. It's an intimidating-looking car. It's put together nicely. It's too slow w/ 12.5 sec. runs. The tranny's holding it back. God, I'm glad I don't own that car.



Yeah, they're overweight, luxo-pigs, but ****, if they'd shed the weight and the leather off their bloated carcasses, I think everyone would have problems going up against them no matter the venue. For now, it's good they haven't started slimming down
