Coming home from work as usual, in the slow lane, just relaxing and enjoying the unseasonable warm weather (50+ in February, in MISSOURI!?!?!? who woulda thought) when i see sumthing silver coming up on my left side...i slow a bit to try and see what it is and a 99 Mitsu Galant with 80-spoke knockoff lo-pro's and a huge fart can and turbo (i assume, any other reason to have IC?) roll past me :P now i try not to race (my poor car is in bad shape already) but i couldn't help myself....i sped up a bit and pulled in behind them....A friend from work, (the guy in the escort i beat from another post) was a coupla car lengths back and watched it all, we got to the light (it leads to a little offramp type road that almost no one uses)i had pulled into the right lane again, and i revved, he revved, i smiled sat back in my seat and pushed the needle to 4.5k and put her in first......light turned i dropped the clutch and we were off, he stayed even through first then i hit second and dropped the gas pedal to the floor, after second he was done, i held thru 3rd and 4th and let off at 90 (the road was quickly merging) he was 2 car lengths when i let off, he turned off at the next exit, i smiled all the way home.......at least galants aren't the ugliest cars in the world (i think that spots reserved for Ford Focuses) and his car was decent lookin...

same engine as the Eclipse and they sell turbo kits and intercoolers for those 4cyl engines, so it would be easy to bolt it up to a Galant, but it only gives the car about 210hp total, its a heavy car, the v-6 galant has 200hp, but a stock 4cyl only has 140.

so was this in broad daylight that you saw an intercooler up front?

Streets is right though...a Galant VR-4 would pull with EASE on a stock n/a FC...a modded one would most likely pull hard

I had a '91 GVR4 before I bought my FD, whenever I have need for a 4-door that is what I will be looking for again. I called it the 4-door sedan version of the Eclipse GSX. Too bad you didnt race one of them, would make you reconsider the body kit you mention in your sig.

i know a guy in my area with one that just dynoed at over 400whp. Keep in mind this is awd. I've seen him yank a front tire off of the ground on a launch too.

You can always go for the G-Lants big brother. The 3000GT VR-4.

I really dont know why you would even consider a heavy car like the 3kgt when you have the more suitable eclipse and galant--which btw can be made respectable by doing the (required for us market cars) engine swap.

I had one of those keep up with me through 1st, although it started to fall back once i hit 2nd before i killed it...
