ummmm....no. BMW has classes. that # isn't the HP ratting.



first # is the series # of the car ie: 3, 5, 7, 8 and 6,



the next 2 #'s are the displacment of the engine.



40 ....... 4.0



25 ....... 2.5



30 ....... 3.0



so then you meld it all together..... 740 is a 7 series with a 4.0 engine.



the M classification is based of the series.



so M3 is a highly moded 3 series, and M5 the 5 series and so on.

 

My friends dad has a 750 (li or il) he said it has a V12 in it.. That's one pretty small V12 isn't it?

 

750 is a v8. v12 hahaha the only 7 series with a 12 is the new 760
