I highly doubt that either Ford or GM would allow each other to be tied together by a single dealership, so what's the name of it. Plus, if you're stock and this was an SS, he'd have put up a fight or beaten you.

Don't rag on cars you don't like. SS' and Cobra's are fast cars, only in a straight line though. And for that reason, I don't like them very much. If they could handle like an FD, I'd give them a lot more props then I do now.
i think there is a dealership in PA.. a huge dealership called Reedmans' and they sell a shitload from mercury/ford's to chevy etc.. i don't know.. but i believe iv'e seen things like that before.. large dealers carry competing brands

ram air setup gives you a good 15 hp
Have you ever seen the ram air set up on the SS? Lift up the hood and the vent is in the middle, there are two tracts underneath the hood that must circle back around to the nose of the car where the airbox is. The ws6 hood is a LOT more effective of a 'ram air' type hood since the lid to the airbox is right where the nostrils on that hood is.

I've seen z28's dyno 320 rwhp bone stock, and I've seen an ss dyno 301 rwhp bone stock. Most ls1's are going to be within 10 or 15 rwhp or each other regardless of trim. The ws6 might make a tiny tiny bit more hp at super high speeds, but for all purposes this is negligible.

uhh....ever seen a 1le equipped f-body? This isn't the 60's anymore, domestic cars can turn and go fast.

Cobra's are IRS, and have plenty of straight line grunt and do pretty well on a track as well....

I knew that, and I actually always liked Cobra's. I'm just not a GM kinda guy.

I don't know. I've seen many peopl say that there z28 runs 13's then they take it to the track up here and only manage a 14.5 and ss owners only manage a 13.8. granted its a lot on the driver. Now when they put out the preformance numbers the cars are driven by pros..just because the car can go that fast don't mean the owner can get it to go that fast. I stomped many a hole in mustang gt's, z 28s , and fire chickens. and in all cases the owners swore up and down the car was a mid 13 sec car...or even a 12 sec. car....but I stomped them in my 13.9 sec subie.

That's not necessarily true.. I know a lot of people don't understand this concept, but here it goes anyway..

Think of the ram air as a supercharger. Only, instead of a belt from the motor turning the compressor, it's the forward speed of the car.

Now think, when you hit the gas on a N/A car, what increases? Vacum. The more vacum you're pulling, the faster the air is entering the engine.

SO, if you want 'ram air' to do anything, you must be traveling forward at a high enough velcity to overcome the vacum and start applying positive air pressure into the engine. Now granted, any pressure over full vacum will help, but the velocity required to overcome the vacum is substantial.

the cars are not driven by pros, they are driven by people who can drive cars. they make a few runs and pick the average
