well, technically its a neon SRT-4. according to most every person thats what it is. neon = 2 syllables. SRT-4 = 4 syllables. neon = 4 letters SRT-4 = 3 letters, one hyphen, and one number. keys for spelling neon = close to the home row. keys for spelling SRT-4 = further away from home row.

the WRX STI isnt badged as an impreza...but from subarus official site you have to click on impreza, then go to WRX STI. which therefore means its a model of an impreza and can be called such. and by your logic since it isnt badged as an impreza it shouldnt be called one?

the SRT-4 is a model of a neon. therefore its a neon and can be called as such. and as of right now theONLY site i could find that didnt label it as a neon srt-4 was the dodge site. dont remember any commercials of it, and havent been to the dealership so i cant tell you what they say about it. but either way EVERYWHERE else calls its a neon srt-4.
I went to the dealer to look at them, when I asked for literature they handed me a Neon sales brochure. That little booklet has an SRT-4 section so yes, even Dodge calls the SRT-4 a Neon. Ever sit in one? You can hardly tell the difference between Neon and Neon SRT-4 interior other than the seats. Because Engine, tranny, and suspension are not exactly the run of the mill Neon doesnt mean much. Look at the Corvette ZR1, or the Z06, those have alot of different parts from their base counterparts but are still called Corvettes. The ZR-1 even had a completely different body from other C4's. The only reason people get offended when you call the SRT-4 a Neon is because deep down inside they know that it is still a Neon and no matter what anybody says, you cannot polish a turd.

FWIW I do respect the SRT-4 for what it is, a really fast turd.

And I forgot to mention, the only SRT-4 I ever raced was at the drag strip and I beat it by 0.2 even after about the crappiest wheel hopping launch ever having to play catch up the first half of the strip.
