At the time my boost was better, but not what it should be. 7 pounds on primary and only 11 on secondary.

This past Friday night I went to the local "race spot" in west pembroke pines/miramar area with some of my car friends. Very cool, slight wind, and a little damp outside. Instead of hanging around, we all decided to go get something to eat at the Mexican restaurant that's in the same parking lot.

As we're walking away from the cars, a kid I know in a Formula Trans Am asks me if I want to run him. His car's not running right, my car's not running right. I really didn't want to at the time, but it ended up being fun. We go out to Pines Blvd, wait for an opening in traffic, hold 20mph, and then came the three honks.

Third honk goes and we floor it. First gear we're relatively even. I shift second and my *** starts sliding around. Second gear's secondary turbo hit was enough to throw him back a few cars, and that's it continued. I pulled him pretty bad after that.

He decides however that it wasn't a good run for him though. So we line it up again, hold 20, and wait for the three honks. Third honk goes and we're dead even through first and second gear. End of second gear I start to walk him, and third gear I dirtied him pretty bad.

So I get back to the restaurant and we all sit down and enjoy talking cars of course. The meal takes a little bit longer than expected, and while we're inside, the police officers decided to run everyone else out.

Anyways, when we're done, I drop off the girl I'm with at about 1AM, and head back out west to another race spot that most of them had gone to. I pull up, and no sooner than I pulle up, a guy in a black Ford Lightning asks me if I want to run. "Sure." I was ready to kick off the race night with a challenge. I didn't really ask what he had done, but we lined up anyways. Racing from a roll again.

First race, we launch and he spins tires and stop racing. I'm thinking, "Since when does spinning tires mean give up?" Anyways, we line it up and we get three honks. BOOM we're gone, and the LOUDEST, MEANEST sounding vehicle I've ever heard erupted from under the hood of this truck. First and second gear we're about even with him being a half car ahead, and then all of a sudden he takes off on me like I would on a Civic. Obvious loss here, but when we get back to the spot, he has the nerve to tell me his Lightning is stock. I told him straight up "You have the gall to tell me that's stock, when my car is faster than a 13.6 1/4 mile time, when you walked me as bad as you did?" (Come to find out today that he's putting down about 640 to the wheels on spray.)

I'm not bummed about losing but I wish people would just be honest with their mods. What's the shame in telling someone what you have done to your car?

Continuing on, I'm sitting talking to some friends and my acquaintance in his brand new SRT-4 pulls up. Now let me give you a little background on this kid. Quote: "My SRT-4 is the first SRT to get a stage 3 engine upgrade, stage 3 coil overs, stage 3 this and that, blah blah blah." I think to myself "Well, he already makes himself look bac in front of people who know anything about cars, but if I beat him in a race or two, it'll make him look REALLY bad."

I was waiting for him to challenge me and he finally did... We head out to US27 and after taking a few run arounds to check for Troopers, we line up with like 5 spectator cars behind us. 25 mph roll, big mistake on his part. one honk, two honks, three honks, GO! By the time my second turbo hit he already quit the race. Turns out he pulled off his shift ****. Second race, same thing. I'm like .

Anyways, he finally decides to race with the shift **** off.

One, two, three honks and we dip. We're even till the end of first, shift second and I'm sliding around like crazy. After that I walked him dirty style. Literally, within 8-10 seconds I was far enough ahead to safely get in his line while he was still racing. I start laughing and I'm thinking, "Man... He's gonna catch so much **** from all the people who's heard him talking about his stage 3 bull ****." Trying to redeem himself, he asks me if I want to race top end. Now I really don't know what he was smoking that night, but it must've been good for him to think he's going to take a high reving, street ported, rotary with a pettit ecu upgrade top end whether my boost is lower or not. But whatever, I figure I'll further make him look bad.

From a third gear roll, it took me about 4 seconds to get a car length on him and continue to put an unexaggerated 20+ car lengths on him by 155 mph. Once I hit 155, I stopped. I figure I did him bad enough with all this "I'll have the fastest car" **** he talks.

Not too shabby for a car running 6 less psi on the primary and 2-3 less on the secondary.

Dude, that is awesome.

Lightning's should not be underestimated, it seems like so many people don't think very much of them! I'm not saying you dont....

Nice job.

good stuff. what else you have done with the stock T's? Good kills and the way i see it you and the 640 HP Truck are 1&1. driving is part of the deal or we all would just get traction controle!A spin is a spin and at the track it counts too.

there is a strip here in DE, that we use, really straight.. no traffic, and no houses, pretty safe, and plenty of people to supervise..

it is illegal, but we try to use as much caution as possible, and we only run 1/4 miles... not top ends..

pettit ecu

tkt pulleys

street port

boost as stated above

stage 4 clutch

Yea the 155 was out on US27. Basically as far west as you can go in south Florida before you hit the Everglades. Even major roads turn into little side roads, that's why we were doing it out there. It didn't take me long to reach that speed, so once I did I shut down right away.
