So im hangin out at 1revvin7's house tonight doing some tuning and who shows up but el's friend Nick with a 240 sx sr20 redtop motor swap. He tok me for a ride in it, VERY FAST, banged some corners for me and then when i was leavin el's we went on the freeway and ran em a few times, first we raced third gear and he only pulled on me about half a car after we shifted into 4th, and then we raced from 4th and we were DEAD even. After all was said and done i think we were both a little surprised.
His mods were redtop motor swap, stock turbo, 11 psi, full exhaust intake, haltech e6k, gutted car Oh and then 1 mile down the road was a speed trap https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/ohmy.png , needless to say we were lucky https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png |
The 240
Damn was I surpised! I thought the 240 was gonna beat him badly. Just goes to show what seats of pants means.... Spoolin is running 8psi on the stock turbo/ports, 13degs ign advance, intake temps would have been around 110-120, and at that time we were not tuned for 8psi, 11.5 afr(s). Minimal weight reduction, dp/mp/intake/microtech My buds 240 was running 11psi on the stock turbo/block redtop motor. Car is extremely gutted, afr were a bit rich, in the 11.3-11.5 range at the time running some aggressive timing. Intake temps with the stock sidemount are in the low 90s. Full exhaust/intake Haltech e6k Damn were we lucky we stopped, the cop would have called up reinforcements. |
just goes to show.. fc's are crazy fast

AFM, AFM, AFM There is the top 3. Then, I'm sure there are plans of going bigger. Sounds to me like the guy is doing things right.

the stock ecu works fine at 15psi with a fmic and full exhaust and stock turbo. if you ever drove one they are so much fast. spools incredibly fast. stock ems cars drive so smooth.........no hiccups. if i wasn't running twice as big injectors as stock i'd still have it https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...DIR#>/wink.png
trust me i love haltechs but that is way overkill for a basically stock setup........... |
