A stock B16 already makes more power than a bolt-on 1st gen. And the weights wont be that different.

yeah but fwd vs rwd
If it's that close of a matchup I withdraw my previous opinion. Still it's a civic. You can always just laugh at him.
Be sure it's just a B16A... Those motors are like ****** lego's. He could have more than you think.
ive seen under the hood, just a b16a with intake and exhaust. full interior, even has a nice little system.
He'll win, his car is heavier.

You'll beat him off the line and he will run you down at the top end.
Make sure you are only running a 1/4 mile or less. If its more that 1/4 mile he will catch you and pass you. DO NOT RACE FROM A ROLL. Make sure you have your launch down good. Youre ability to get ahead of him at the start will be the key to winning. It will be a close race though. He has more HP but is heavier and is FWD so you have a coupleof advantages at the start. I raced a guy in a Accord with an engine swap he claimed to have 250 HP to my 160 (1990 GTU). We ran from a standing start. I ripped him a new one through 1st and 2nd gear I had easily 7-10 cars on him at the top of second. Then I shifted to 3rd............ ............. and watched in frustration as he walked me down and passed me. WE covered way more than 1/4 mile though. If it was 1/4 or less I would have had him... barely. |
or you could just give him a fender and put him off the road.
well matts car has the full racing beat exhuast which should give him about 25 whp. those civics are running like 100 whp with intake and exhaust
