N/A FC AutoXing against Si & GTI latter this summer.
#1
Two of my friends how are brothers are getting a GTI and an SI (talk about sibling rivalry) soon, both almost have their down payments ready. And they dare challenge the FC As it stands a stock S4 would get pounded on. But by the time we do time attack I'll have VDI, and a header added on I already bought both just waiting to put them on. I also have a cat back and maintain the car with Royal Purple synthetics all around.
Suspension wise I just picked up "new" OEM wheels (I had steelies) and will get some new rubber soon. I'm saving for KYB GR2's and a racing beat sway bar/spring package. I'll get a bunch a of new bushings while I'm at it (bushing are cheap so why not).
My final mods would be Rtek7, and a carbon fiber hood painted to match car (just cause I want a lighter hood not this 50lbs stock one) if I can still afford it. With Rtek7 and tunning (and the other power mods) I should be looking at 180+ at the "crank". In a light base model S4. That should put the FC at stock S4 turbo acceleration with much better handling.
Basically I can compete very well with these guys for relatively little money:
<$150 for VDI and associated parts with install
$140 for pacesetter header (not the daily driver I'll buy corksport after graduation)
$200 OEM Mazda Wheels
$200 for good rubber
$50 paint job (yep doing the DIY one)
$0 cat back (previous owner, pretty new)
$375.16 KYB GR2's
$440.10 Racing Beat
$399.00 Rtek7
Total $1954
So hopefully I'll be able to beat out my buddies. Though I'm going to get killed by my friends MS3
