My T66, Haltech Fd Looses To A Stock S2000
#1
i lost $2000 in a street race against a stock S2000 last night, long story short, i was giving him a 4 car slingshot. meaning he starts 4 car lengths behind me and gets a running start at the 1/4, when he is beside me, i launch and we run a full 1/4.
i slept on the line and didn't drop the clutch till he was 2 full cars ahead of me, then i spun the ET streets through all of first gear. by the time my car hooked up in second, the honda was a good 10 car lengths ahead of me, at the finish line, the honda beat me by a lil more than a fender. i passed him 6 feet after the finish line and i was probably going 30 mph faster than he was at the finish. i passed him so hard that i neerly lost controol of my car from the wind suction. i was soooo pissed, if i had left on time i would have won. oh well, i lost $2000 but i feel happy because my car is running like a ******* animal!!!!!! Joe from J&R, and Enzo from header tech spent the evening tuning my car last night and it feels better than it ever has. i'll chalk that $2000 loss up to experience, but believe me when i say that i'm gonna make a loooot of $$$$$ on the streets of NY this summer........

man thats bullshit, why can't people just draw a line on the ground and race from it? If his car is so slow that he needs a head start, he has no business racing you. I'm just pissed cuz things have evolved from whoever has the fastest car wins to some other bullshit like "my car is fast enough to beat you....if you give me a 20mph roll" wtf? Go bust some people and get your money back, that guy doesn't deserve it

the only reason the race came about is because the S2000 owner is a regular at J&R, where my car was built and lives. one friday night after closing we were all hanging out drinking beers and the drunk honda guy starts talking **** about rotaries. he said something like he would whip any rx7's *** in LI, so i told him i'd run him as soon as my car was fixed, he said he would run if i gave him 4 cars and a break for 10 grand, i said 'be serious and tell me how much you wanna run for..., he said he had $2000, so i agreed and told him i'd beat him too easily with 4 and a break, so i offered him the slingshot (i shouldn't have dont this, but i was pretty drunk and was trying to embarass the guy)
just to clarify, i didn't give him a 1/4 mile running start, i gave him a running start the equivalent of 4 car lengths. for those that dont know, slingshot races are pretty rare in NY, and usually NEVER done in a 1/4 mile race. slingshots are usually only done in mile long races. i feel good just knowing that i was able to catch a car that was already traveling at 45 mph before i even launched
and mazdabation, there was actually about $4000 that changed hands on that race last night, (only $2000 of it was mine) out here its not uncommon to see $5-8000 bet on a street race...
