V6 5-Speed and I gave him a head start. Weren't any traffic lights so I told him to go when he felt like it. To add insulate to injury I just spun through 1st gear, not moving at all. By the time second was done I had already passed him.

yeah they have V6's only 1.9 Liters...

There used to be a kid over here in stl with an MX3 with an SVt contour motor swap. basically the same motor. Just sporting 200hp in stock form. He did a bit more to it.... but the car got totaled. He was running 12.8's with some weight reduction a nice free flowing exhaust and I think a different set of cams... sounded sweet but was fast as hell....

But in stock form they arent anything to brag about. especially the 4 cylinder auto's... which most are....

Yup. When they came out, the little six in the MX-3 was the smallest production V-6 made. I don't know if it's still true, but I suspect it is. Of course, that don't mean **** if it isn't as strong as a four with the same displacement. IMHO what Mazda really needs is a strong motor in their cars. Sure, they all have decent pick-up, but none of them really hauls ***. Not since 1995 anyway.

Right now america wise I think the fastest is a race between the tribute and the Miata...

Tribute does 0-60 in 8.0

Or maybe the top of the line motor in a 2wd config in the B series pickups...
