I was out on Broad Street yesterday around lunch time, stopped at a light when I look over and notice this kid on a 10-speed staring at my car. I was driving my '89 626 with 168k miles on it. He was about nine. Real tough looking. I locked the doors and glanced back at him and revved. He laughed and got on the pedals and looked up at the light. It was about to change.



Green. We both go. I revved to 6k and dumped the clutch. My front tires started hopping like a hyped-up kid on a pogo stick. He was standing on the pedals and actually pulled the front wheel off the ground as he launched. I was in awe! I hit second gear with a pathetic chirp and pulled dead even with him. We must have been going at least 15 mph. Second gear my suspension settled and finally started pulling on him. By the time we hit the next light, I had maybe three or four bike lengths on him.



I rolled down my window and hit him with some trash I had laying on my seat. Bounced it off the side of his head. "Don't mess wit me, Sucka!", I yelled, as he busted out crying. Hah! I was pumped!



There's a kid on my block with a moped. I think it's a Bianchi. Do you think I can take him?

 

That's the funniest ******* thing I have ever heard!

 

Damn, maybe the kids chain was a bit loose and he missed a gear, you gotta watch out for those 10 speeds man..

 

I hear those "mopeds" run NOS, yo. They pack some serious heat. I had one back in the day, and if I felt just an itch, the bitch would throw me off the back, and I would find it like a block down the street, or up in some damn tree. The pedals are just for that "sleeper" look. You better watch out, those moped riders are some tough mo fo's.

i think the kid just needed some bolt ons and hed take you.... at least thats the honda philosophy

 

no way no how, with a proffesional drive it does the 1/4 block in 11.5 @ 15mph. Beside it doesn't know how to launch a bike, he probably did wheelies through all 10 gears.

 

Ok, this must be the funniest post yet!People think i`am crazy at work..

Was he running on both cylinders, or was one maybe a bit limpy...???



Look out next time, he might wanna race again, but will most probably be upgraded to a 12 speed...

i heard they're making a new 22-speed bike, with short pedals, racing slicks,

mag wheels and a suspension upgrade, made of titanium...i fear it >:{

now i gotta bolt on that supercharger to my Lawn Boy lawn tractor, the kid

down the street bought that damn bike, he could own the streets by dawn!

But i have my yard tractor and my best friend the garden gnome, we can win!
