Just out cruising one night in my stock 89, and a guy and his friend roll up beside me in a 98 Integra. His exhaust had a great note to it. Im in third, so i casually drop it into second and repeatedly speed up and slow back to him. He dropped a gear and hit it, I heard his intake gasping for air. We were neck and neck until he went to third, I hung in second a little longer and gained on him, went to third and he was back it my nose. After about 5 seconds in third, I was pulling from him and held about a car and a half until we stopped.

Last night I drove a Honda for the first time. The thing sounded like a toy.

 

LOL...I used to drive a nissan that sounded the same...like a toy.

 

i used to drive a volksagen that really sounded like a toy. ohh, wait i still do.

 

My friend hates when people talk about Hondas like that. He's not a ricer, he drives a totally stock 1983 Accord with ~250K miles on it. He just doesn't like that the only respect Honda gets is because they're reliable and they get good gas mileage. I told him they get that respect because its true. They don't make any truly haul-*** kick-butt cars. The S2000 has to be driven like you hate it to really do anything, and the NSX is being quickly outstripped by much cheaper, much faster cars (i.e. the C5). The only other respectable thing is the amount of engineering they put into stuff, especially the NSX and their motorcycles. Few machines out there have the sort of precision and polish that they do.

 

true except to get the most out of an rx-7 you have to rev the hell out of it too.. just like the s2000... i think in that repsect their pretty close
