well, i was heading to this party last night, and i pulled up to a light and next to a new GTP. i heard they are quick (superchaged, right?). so, i look over at him and he revvs. i dont, i just scoot up a little bit, and he does the same. i had my friend adam in the car (extra 175 lbs), and the guy in the other car was alone.

so, the light hits green and i drop it from 4500 rpm. the extra weight in the car helped me stick with some wheel ship but no hop. the GTP peeled out a wicked amount. through 1st we were neck and neck and we shifted about the same time. i had and clean shift into second, and from then on it was all me. it was a cool night, and my car was pushing hard with my custom CAI, and my boost was hitting around 10 psi most of the way through 2nd. by the time i hit 3rd, i had about 3 cars on him, and since the speed limit was 45 mph i took it as a win, dropped into 4th and cruised off to the party.

my first kill in about 5-6 months. it was a sedan, but oh well, i'll take it.

I do believe they have roots blowers.

gtps are supercharged and i definitely may be mistaken but arent one of the gtp models a high 13/low 14 second car?

i dunno why but i have that figure stuck in my head....but it's got a 20% chance of being right lol cause i doubt my own thought lol.

Yeah, GTPs have Eaton roots blowers. A buddy of mine has one, used to run it in the Ann Arbor area. We ended up using it for a class experiment, in fact. They aren't bad cars, kind of comparable in purpose to an RX-8 (practical sportiness). Those "turbine buttons" you mentioned, 4Rotor? Those are a paddle-shifter system like the AT 8's. They're only on the '04 GTP Comp Group, though.

Good kill, Aggie. The guy I know with the GTP give me **** all the time about how a rotary is sooo inferior to pushrod, and how RX-7s are little more than Porshe wannabes. Great to know Pontiac can't push around 7's too badly.

Nice kill. I test drove one before going and buying my 7. THey are quick. We will have to get together some time. I am in College station on the weekends, and am trying to find a job in the area. Always good to find another rotor head.
