Thumbs down

Chris (7sins) came down today to clean out his engine bay some.

So after we did that we were out doing some drivin.

We pulled off into the Circuit city warehouse road. There is basically a 1/4 mile of two lane straight there with no cars.

We lined up and went on the count of three.

I dropped it at about 4500 rpm, I slid around through 1st then went to 2nd and my car completely bogged down.

NOTHING--Boost was utterly gone. It took a few seconds to build again and by that time Chris had pulled about a car and a half on me.

I got caught up near the end of the run. So That sucked.

I was having fun though so we circled around and tried it again.

This time i figured i would try to not launch so hard hoping that would make a difference

I did get a better start , but again boost was gone on 2nd gear.

Chris pulled about 1/2 car length on me and held it.

I have been telling Rikki that the car feels awefully laggy. Now I have my proof.

I was getting run by a car with a stock engine. That should not be happening. It's because of one or two things I belive.

Well first off I know that it is pig rich right now and that is most of it. And that can be adjusted so thats ok, 2nd I am wondering how much of a roll my silencers are playing in that. I am gonna take them off tomorrow and see.

My first good race though with the new engine.

I had fun, thanks again Chris.

Better to lose to a friend driving a Fd than a shitstang or something.

The upside to this is that now I know where the kinks are.

Oh and he got both runs on video. So they should be up soon I hope.

Chris you killed me..

HURTING

It's good to know you can take a loss like a man! Maybe next time you will fill the bottle

So was his whole car stock? Or just the engine?

No Chris has mods.

I think he has a midpipe/downpipe/RB dual/Power FC/Removed air pump/nonsequential/Tien coilovers?????

Is that right Chris??

I should say in my defence. If the road were longer I would have had him. (I believe anyway) My exhaust ports are all ported out so my top end will run almost anyone down. I topped it out at 168 on my old set up.

I know that this one will go. It's the low end where he killed my ***.

I wish he would do the video tonight.. Chris where are you at man?

im telling you those silencers snag a lot of ponies, someone posted a dyno map in one of your other topics i think showing like a 20+ loss, it might've been another topic i forget.

tip - to get those out of there just plug the exhuast holes, and get in the car and floor it, they should pop right out

kevin.
