Are there any kind of basic "rules" when someone revs at you from a light? I mean do you guys race all comers or do some people rev at you just to get under your skin? A Ford Explorer with 3 passengers was revvin' at me at a light and I admit, I was like "huh"??

Well if it is an unexpected race, what usually happens to me is someone revs, then someone either points at the light or straight ahead and a nod then its on....

Its like this.. thats not street racing, thats stop light racing. Which is dangerous, and endangers innocent peoples lives. I try not to do it, and i dont encourage it. But when someone revs at you in an explorer they are just ******* with you... best idea is to just laugh at them. If a honda (or equavilant)revs at you, best thing to do is this...

1: look ahead, make sure no traffic is in front of you (if no one is in front, see #2 else see #10)

2: look back at the person, smile, and give a slight rev back (this lets them know youre game)

3: look back forward to make sure no one has turned into your lane and watch the light facing the other way.

4: when light turns green, launch your car like you would at any stop light, then when you are across the intersection, punch it

5: pass them by and wave

6: pull to the next light and give them a thumbs up (even if you dont want to)

7: repeat steps (unless you the race was won by more than 2 car lengths ... in which case you would both be wasting gas)

10: dont race!

Those are the rules of stop light racing... street racing is totally different.

hope this helps.
