ummm, i know i dont post much here, as i have said before, i am from england and my dad drives an rx7tt. My car is a nissan pulsar (apparently illegal to own in the US) which is powered by sr20det as standard so i spent alot of time researching these engines.

To be honest, i cant see a rex having difficulty killing a standard sr20det powered car- however i can outlaunch my dad (i have 4wd) . I dont know what the cars are like in the us for tuning with the lower octane fuels? here in the uk i can get 98ron at the pumps and my car makes just under 300bhp at the flywheel with 1bar boost.

On the other end of the scale, apart from the launch, an rx would waste me (an fd that is) and ive raced plenty of 200sx's over here (240sx in us i think) and never had trouble. Hope that helps.

Charlie

I know a guy who dropped a stock sr20 into a 240sx. It was quick, but he blew the motor before he could get everything running right. I believe he ran a 14.5 at the track with crappy tires and no lsd. on the stock motor.

I spanked a Older type 240sx with a Sr20DET motor init.

One night driving with the wife down Mountain road

in Glenburnie MD... There was a pack of imports

going up the road . While I was just cruising along.

a Older tyep 240sx pulled up and was kinda taunting

right next to me.. I looked over and saw a 240sx

and thought to myself " What a POS", don't waste my time.

Then I heard the whine of a TTURBO and a BOV..

I was llike OH SHIET whats up with that.

So I downshifted into 2nd as he did and we stomped it.

Smoked his *** by at least 4-5 lenghts before going into

4th before we both let off for traffic.

SO he pulled up, and i asked what he had init, he said

a sr20 with turbo. So light changed.. Said Ihad a fast

car and gave me the Thumbs up and we parted ways...

I killed my friend's stock SR20DET 240sx(s13) by several car lengths in the 1/4. Be careful though. When these cars get some mods they can pull some great times. Now that my friend has had his SR20DET in for some time he has made some great mods and great times. With an HKS intercooler, SAFC, AVCR, OBX equal length tubular manifold, Greddy 20g turbo(running 20psi), 540cc injectors, 300zx lower control arms, rims, and tires(in the rear), and a gutted interior he pulled a best time of 7.77 in the 1/8 which I have been told equates to an 11.6 or 11.8 in the 1/4.
