I stayed fender and fender with a Z06 in my auto fd.

 

Hey Lanny how much boost were u making when u were head to head with a zo6? It take alot of mods plus u have to run aleast 14 psi or more in auto fd inorder to keep up with a zo6. I do hope many of u guy's know the difference between the z06 and the na c5 vett? Cause the c5 only makes I think 345 hp where the z06 makes 400 hp and 405 ft tq. Also the vids show that vett had the upper hand on the fc? I am not koncking ours but I know for sure u need alot of power to keep up with a z06 casue those are sick.

 

Eddie stays right with the z06, and last time i raced eddie he got me by about 3/4 of a car ... so i think i could hang with the z06 if i fix my boost problems and get a nice boost controller.



As for the video, I got a super late start, you can see in the video. And yes, i know the difference between a z06 and a c5.

 

the Z06 runs a 12.44sec 1/4 mile. HOLY CRAP......that's nastier than i thought!!!!!!!!! btw that's from motor trend

 

alot of people can't tell the difference, its funny when people race and the car is automatically the high performance one. Ask anyone who races a vette and they'll of course say it was a z06.

 

I'd say the back fire you heard from the C5 was probably him hitting the rev limiter. He was probably spinning the tires real bad and spun the rpms over the limit....which would explain you pulling 4 cars in him by the top of 2nd. Thats only 60 mph, pulling 4 cars by 60 on a Vette with equal traction you'd need a 10 second car

That is exactly what I was thinking. I always add about .5 to 1.0 seconds to those times. Most Vette drivers are middle aged men with the reaction time of a sloth and a beer belly the size of a 7 month pregnant womans. I watch a lot of these bozos at the 1/4 mile strip and the Autocross and it is a rarity to see one that can actually drive.



While I am sure you have a friend that can make his Z-06 scream there are 100 other vettes out there where the driver doesn't have a clue.
