dam...

Cruising around Queens, met up with a few people. Couple of cool guys with some serious Mustangs. Tried to get a few friendly runs in, but cops eventually got us too p-noid. oh well, so we decided to go to a few other hot spots. Ended up in the Bronx...

Then, the familiar site of backed up traffic in desolate area... streetdrag. People were hanging oout, racing, slamdancing.. (lol j/.k) anyway. i decided to run my 7 for kicks. 2 lane each way and the return lanes were jammed, so some traffic directors guided me to the front because they wanted to see me run. i was sure why not. people were like 'who u want, who u want?' not having streetdrag or dragged for that matter with my 7, i wasn't prepared to call anyone out. but i ended up lining up with an FC! pretty nice. so big guy with orange shirt, setting the launches gave us two 'are u ready?' fingers and then drops both hands to the ground and we were off... i guess i dropped well enough that by 3rd gear i was a more than a few cars in front of the N/A FC... when i came back people were like 'yo yo i got this for u , yo yo i got that fo you'. i must've had my head gassed because i ended up lining up with an EVO 8 with opened up air. mind me pushing 6-7psi, (got no fmic, not risking my engine with my open exhaust) so like i was saying...

Got damn the pressure, rotary heads were all out... some guy with a tattoo of a rotary was like 'YO REPRESENT YO REPRESENT' when i'm saying people were crowded around us i'm saying they were crowded around us. i literally had to use my 7 as a snow plow and push people out of my way to get into position. ok ok so first run. i nervously slipped the clutch and car bogged a bit when we launched... so Evo 8 knew this was BS so he was cool enough to turn back for pass 2.

Got back to the line... OOOOOHHHHH' yelled the galleries. second line up... by this time i felt like a million people were talking to me. i should've listened to my cousin and rolled my window up. well, i was on the right of the same big orange guy and this time the Evo lined the left. 'Ready?' 'Ready?' Go@!!!!!

I dropped my clutch like 4200... my tirees spin, re-adjust the throttle a bit to grip and by top of 1st, the Evo jumped in front by like a car. BAM second gear... fished a little to the right and then AWD made me look slow... by now Evo was like 2 cars up and i'm here biting the dust. made it just to 3rd and i decided to winddown. i'm not sure why, but i felt like this was the proper thing to do. i think it's from embarrassment. that **** gave me first streetdrag lost. i'm sure if i would've kept going my 7's 3rd and 4th would've creamed him, but i think these races were more about the first 300 ft or something... GOT DAM.!

Ok, but that's it. i'm not losing anymore. i've been sleeping quite a bit, but that night woke me up. i'll chalk this one up to my learning curve. but GOT DAM! oh well .. fun night altogether. somewhere on an EVO board i'm getting raped. just wanted to share my lost, plus i like writing...

Humiliated in front of the "galleries" on Zerega Ave No traction on those lo pro tires ... maybe that is why your launch sucked.

supposively those evo's are possible of 12's stock, if the launched can be achieved, otherwise they're 13 second cars, from what i've read

but they're pushing 18psi stock and still only putting out 271hp at the crank, i dont understand how they get such low times because their loss to the AWD system must make them only have like ~230 at the wheels, and they aren't some light compact car.

i just dont understand it.

anyway as long as you had some fun it's all good

yea probably, havent seen any dyno sheets for the evo8 yet.

the srt-4 is crazy rated at 215 at the crank, making more then that at the wheels.

it's like back in the muscle car era "hey sure the 442 only makes 200hp......" (exaggerated)

yea i watched one run a 15+ second time at e-town, like the evo8 tho it's all about the launch with these cars it seems (as with the s2k as well)

evo8 ran a 14 when one magazine was looking for the correct launch spot in the band, when they found it tho it went right toi low 13s

moral is: it's all about the driver.
