A Friendly Game Of Keep Up
Me and my friend had just picked up his 03 wrx from the dealership where it had had a new fifth gear put in up. Normal drive home, him speeding up at every light making sure his car was alright me driving like a grandma through cop infested lancaster county. We turned on to the last road before his road and stopped, i thought something had broke and pulled over . He got out and sudjested a game of keep up with the prize being a pizza. Hungry as i was i agreed in a heart beat. Start of the road is a decent straight away with some rolling turn followed by an anoying reverse banked 90.
To say i was killed on that straight would be putting it lightly. I got of good with minimal tire spin and he shot off like a bat out of hell. I was about 8-9 car legnths back by time he hit the reverse bank. I shot around it knowing this road well enough to drive like a fool. I hit the next straight and didnt see him, no surprise its only 10 yards long then the other 90 that heads straight down the hill. As i crested the hill the distance couldnt have been any more and 6 car lengths and he was pulling again. We cam down to the banked 90 at the bottom of the hill where he didnt hit it right and had to brake at the exit to avoid hitting a mail box. I scooted through it tires squealing to no end and found myself 2 car lengths behind a very shaken wrx and driver. he slowed down did the speed limit home and agreed that i very much did keep up with him and that the pizza was on him.
His wrx had manual boost controller and intake.
87 gxl dead stock w/front and rear strut tower braces and suspension that has 120k on it
Im proud of my little 7

*hint hint* unless it's raining or on gravel.... WRXs don't handle for ****....they push badly thru the corners. Damned nice kill though!
I have created a monster. I have a 93 FD with mods and my wife has an 02 WRX that I modded. She has pushed the car so much lately that she is a very good match for me in the FD. So now she wants a little more to get just ahead of me. I bought that thing totaled and it was quick, and with mileage it just got faster even before I started modding it.
She's up to 55k on the car and even I have taken down a C5 vette in it loaded with the kid, wife and all in the car.
What she doesn't know is that I'm doing my own work to the FD on the side. HE HE
