Met up with some domectic guys at Sonic last night. We went over to a strip in this remote industrial area and did a few runs. A modded Neon SRT-4 beat an esentially stock fd. I let Steve drive my car against a new Camaro SS. From what I could tell, he had heads, cam, exhaust, nos, automatic on et streets. Steve lined up with him and got a decent launch considering my car was ons treet tires. But my ailing trans caused him to miss evey gear. Still, he didn't loose by much. I got pissed and said lets take it on the highway. I drove this time. The Camaro didn't want to go due to his tires making him unstable at speed, so I went against a similarly set up Firebird. We did a 2nd gear punch, he jumped on me before the 3rd beep and then my intercooler coupler popped off. Now I was real pissed. I wasn't going to let these domestics think they are faster. I motioned to pull over into a gas station. Fixed the coupler, and got back on the highway. We did another 2nd gear punch. He jumped again and got a car and a half on me as I spooled. I started spinning near the top of 2nd but stayed on it. I somehow managed to get it into 3rd and chirp the tires. I was pulling him in. I granny shifted to 4th and shot ahead. Near the top of 4th I was about two cars ahead so I shut down. He wanted to go again, but my coupler popped when we tried. I dunno why, not like you can mess up much with an auto. Maybe he was planning to spray. I can't wait to get the new trans in. I'm sick of missing gears due to the fucked synchros.

I know how you feel, so are you going to opt for Tbolts?

Because the engine vibrates so badly that it can cause you to miss gears.

Yea the whole driveline moves. Put the car in 3rd gear and get on it. Watch the shifter move as you get on it and back off. I had t bolts, but the one I had on that particular coupler was too big and was slipping off. I need to find a smaller one.
