saw my friend drive by last night with his yellow z06 so I caught up real quick with him so we could actually catch a light. Took us about a half mile or so and we both we're rolling up to the upcoming red light. I slowed down enough so I could actually get into 1st gear with out grinding and he was about a car length ahead of me rolling in 1st as well.
The light turned green as we were both rolling and we both punched it, him still being about a half car length ahead of me at this point. I only got through 1st, 2nd, and the end of third (90 something mph) and he ended up being about a car length ahead which was the ending of the race. Over all I was pretty stoked to keep up with, especially losing only by a car length, to a Z06 with exhaust and intake https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png oh i know it wasn't a kill but this is the only place i know where to post at |
i need to get a highflow though, i kept creeping to 12 lbs and having to get off the throttle a little :( , but midpipe sounds mean

Yeah, you should be able to beat a z06 with some good tuning.

instead of trying to get rid of your boost spike....
embrase it!!!!! get an intercooler and get that sucker tuned.. lol |

I got slowly pulled on by a modded WS6 Trans-Am this weekend. 1st gear roll from like 15mph till about early 3rd gear I'd say. He pulled 1 car on me. :[ I was only running 8psi on my non-sequentials though. Gonna be turnin' it up to 10-11psi via manual boost controller by the end of the week, though. No spikes, creeps, or under/over-boosting. I love the sheer feeling of PREDICTABLE power. *dances* |
Those WS6's are no joke. Had an 02 at my work, it was pretty damned fast. Burned tires through first 3 gears. I actually did a burnout in it, and laid patches about 50 feet long. Just too heavy...

Just too heavy... a ws6 is the same as a camaro ss, z28, firebird formula, firehawk and trans am...jsut wanted to clear that up cause some of the people I know hear SS, firehawk or ws6 and automatically assume its faster. |
yeah, only thing i noticed differently was the rims. maybe suspension is different?
this thing was worked though, header, straight exhaust, no cats, and had some motor work done to it also. from what the mechanics told me in the shop. the car supposedly ran an 11.6 at one time from the previous owner. |

11.6 doesnt sound to far off. I had a friend in high school who ran 11.98 in a stock WS6, fully striped and on slicks. Allthough......i wouldent be suprised if a FD ,fully striped, on slicks couldent do the same.

eh, he said he ran that on street tires, but decent ones. it also had a super tough clutch, some carbon kevlar two piece or some ****. also had 4:10 gears(or 4:73). it had a **** load of torque though, it was fun to drive, but I just could not take a turn at 50mph without tightening up my *******.
