saw my friend drive by last night with his yellow z06 so I caught up real quick with him so we could actually catch a light. Took us about a half mile or so and we both we're rolling up to the upcoming red light. I slowed down enough so I could actually get into 1st gear with out grinding and he was about a car length ahead of me rolling in 1st as well.

The light turned green as we were both rolling and we both punched it, him still being about a half car length ahead of me at this point. I only got through 1st, 2nd, and the end of third (90 something mph) and he ended up being about a car length ahead which was the ending of the race.

Over all I was pretty stoked to keep up with, especially losing only by a car length, to a Z06 with exhaust and intake https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/smile.png

oh i know it wasn't a kill but this is the only place i know where to post at

nopistons94 11-06-2005 10:09 AM

i need to get a highflow though, i kept creeping to 12 lbs and having to get off the throttle a little :( , but midpipe sounds mean

sweet7 11-06-2005 10:13 AM

Yeah, you should be able to beat a z06 with some good tuning.

FikseRxSeven 11-06-2005 10:23 AM

instead of trying to get rid of your boost spike....

embrase it!!!!! get an intercooler and get that sucker tuned.. lol

won't fit with the stock turbos or piping I thought?

sweet7 11-06-2005 10:53 AM

Aren't you planning on getting an IC anyways?

well I was going to when I got the rest of the stuff done like injectors, pullies, and such but I really dont feel like wasting 350 on a highflow that Ill only use in winter for like 2 months

BrandonDrecksage 11-06-2005 01:20 PM

nice..whats done to your car?

martin..how was the zoom zoom ****. the rx8 i beat up on had the check engine light on...lol.

nopistons94 11-06-2005 02:19 PM

right now my car has full exhaust, power fc, intake and thats about it, running stock injectors and boost still :(

KingFD 11-06-2005 07:33 PM

Sweet. Get that **** sorted and kick his ass next time.

rowtareh 11-11-2005 03:46 PM

Why only to 3rd gear? Nice though, always nice to see a V8 go down.

Lionheart240 11-27-2005 11:02 PM

It's all good man.

I got slowly pulled on by a modded WS6 Trans-Am this weekend. 1st gear roll from like 15mph till about early 3rd gear I'd say. He pulled 1 car on me. :[

I was only running 8psi on my non-sequentials though.

Gonna be turnin' it up to 10-11psi via manual boost controller by the end of the week, though.

No spikes, creeps, or under/over-boosting.

I love the sheer feeling of PREDICTABLE power. *dances*

rowtareh 11-29-2005 02:25 AM

Those WS6's are no joke. Had an 02 at my work, it was pretty damned fast. Burned tires through first 3 gears. I actually did a burnout in it, and laid patches about 50 feet long. Just too heavy...

a ws6 is the same as a camaro ss, z28, firebird formula, firehawk and trans am...jsut wanted to clear that up cause some of the people I know hear SS, firehawk or ws6 and automatically assume its faster.

rowtareh 11-29-2005 10:18 PM

yeah, only thing i noticed differently was the rims. maybe suspension is different?

this thing was worked though, header, straight exhaust, no cats, and had some motor work done to it also. from what the mechanics told me in the shop. the car supposedly ran an 11.6 at one time from the previous owner.

probably didn't have internal work...internals will last 100k miles at 450rwhp. it probably had a nice cam...maybe different heads and some suspension... 11.6 is nothing for a modified lsx engine. a cam and full exhaust with the good ole driver mod will get you there. good sus[pension and good tires can get a 1.6 60ft too.

RE-Amemiya7 11-30-2005 11:42 AM

11.6 doesnt sound to far off. I had a friend in high school who ran 11.98 in a stock WS6, fully striped and on slicks. Allthough......i wouldent be suprised if a FD ,fully striped, on slicks couldent do the same.

rowtareh 11-30-2005 07:03 PM

eh, he said he ran that on street tires, but decent ones. it also had a super tough clutch, some carbon kevlar two piece or some ****. also had 4:10 gears(or 4:73). it had a **** load of torque though, it was fun to drive, but I just could not take a turn at 50mph without tightening up my *******.

cdaleracer669 12-02-2005 10:26 PM

i believe the WS6 package is rims,brakes, changes to ECU,ram air.not 100% certain tho

no..its rims and suspension...no changes to the ecu...and ram air..but that doesn't really do anything. brakes are all the same on same year ls1s.
