Unfortunately, my new GSL-Se's new victim had to be my best friends very own 79 rx7.

I traded a 1984 Corolla SR5 coupe for this rx7, Its stock for the most part with cut springs (I know) but has the 13b in it. About 5 days later I found a nice 79 RX7 on craigslist and talked my best friend into buying it. Arriving to check out the car before purchase, we were pleasantly surprised to find a plethora of aftermarket parts. Very stiff road racing springs (what the owner explained to us as) Header, a desmogged 12 and once we fired it up, we found that it had a VERY light flywheel as 4000 rpm revs were litterally a nano second venture and returning to idle was nearly as effortless. Excited we were anxious to see what a peppy revving 12 could do against my newly aquired 13b. We were sure the aftermarket supported 12a would cream the stock 13b

we waited till 3am in the morning until we could not contain ourselves. Venturing far out of town to a private drive we staged them up. Honked 3 times and unleashed the rotating masses on their pavment victims. Immediatly the 12a sprang forward to meet the nose of my own as he slept at the third honk for about a half a second. Revving both to 8000rpm the 12a needed to shift a few moments before mine and nosed ahead a few centimeters until mine shifted into second and my own rx7 seemed to come alive even more. Imediatly pulling away, destroying the torque deprived 12a seemed as effortless as drinking my morning cup of coffee. Pulling away to meet his front bumper to my back bumper, my screaming 13b required a gear change once again. Switching to third only seemed to aggitate the 13b more, and pulling away from the 12a worsend until my best friend gave up and released pressure of the right most peddle.

Kill number 1. Stay tuned.

You should be a writer!

BTW - the 79 RX7 is an "SA" (ne pas de 'FA'), the later-first-gen-that-isnt-an-sa is an "FB", the 2nd gen is the "FC", the 3rd gen is the "FD", the north american rx8 is an "FE", and so on.
