Ok so earlier today i posted about how my 88 TurboII AE broke its alternator belt in a dunkin donuts parking lot. Well while I was repairing it with my buddy (along with all the other belts!) some kid in a 98 (style) white civic 2 door, with rims, fart can exhaust, altezza's and some stupid wire mesh grill pulls into the gas station next to the dunkies. He see's me working on my car and starts laughing, i look up and i'm like...yeah ok your driving a civic. At that he rev's to about 8000 RPM and lets off with a huge POP! My buddy and i are into american V8's (and have a huge respect for Rotary's, there not rice!) so we just start laughing. He starts to get gas and walks over and is like, at least my car is running, that POS is stuck there. So i just look at him and am like, give me 20 minutes to get these belts installed and i'll give you a run...Lets make it $100 (which i don't have). He's all hesitant and is like, i'll wait but your gonna be out $100 bucks. I was like whatever, he must not of noticed the intercooler saying TURBO II and INTERCOOLER. So i actually thought maybe this kid had something, i didn't even bother looking at his car, i just kept on fixing mine, but a little faster so i could go race. So i finish up and get in, pull up next to him and am like, HEY LOOK!!! IT RUNS!!! with that he revs the shitbox up again and is like follow me to the highway (93 in NH). I was like are you sure buddy? and he's like yeah i have better top end than that...So off we went. On the way to the highway theres about a 2 mile stretch of one lane road that is very straight and throughout it i would let him take off and i would slowly fade back not pushing my car at all. So we get to the on ramp and pull onto the highway..its open for a good two miles in the middle of the day so we line up at 40 and he gives three beeps. I leave it in third and go about half throttle, we're next to each other and i'm pulling slightly as the turbo starts to kick i just floor it and go to the "beep" redline and slam into fourth to put this tard away. At about 120 i look back and he's a good 7-10 cars back, i put the hazards on and wait for him to catch up...Can you guess what happens...Flies by reving like crazy and continues to go fast, i catch up again and my buddy is waving to him to pull over to collect as he gives us the finger... SO i once again burn him all the way to about 135 and pull off the next exit, just to reassure the *** beating he was just delivered...GOD I hate civics...seriously! Sorry for the long post, but i wanted to tell the entire story..the belts held up just fine!!!

no it wasn't an si but it did have the vtec, i think the EX's have the vtec's too...and yeah the car is completely stock with a brand new stock exhaust (waste of money but it was my dads car) and i just put new plugs in it the other day which really woke her up. I just got her from my dad, and now he wants to get her going faster with some mods. She's got low miles on the engine, but the body doesn't look amazing as it sat through a bunch of new england winters and is now peeling with the sunroof rusting a bit...but it sure is funny to beat the hell out of cars that cost these kids a ton of $$ just to make sound lounder and look different (i think worse) with spoilers and wheels...I'll put the money into mods first then take care of cosmetics down the line!
