gotta love how even a ricer (cockey) who has something is afraid of the RX-7, anyone know how the 2nd gen N/A's fair against the ricers? I havent done much racing in mine, seeing as I still have my learners permit.

NAs are "OK" against the ricers, but preludes and some modded vtec civics sometimes gave me a good run....NA rx7s are 0 to 60 in the 7s typically and I know that a stock GSR teg is a low 7 high 6...so who knows....race 'em in the twisties and you've got nothing to worry about...

BTW, glad I went w/ boost this time

get a full exhaust system... they make insane amounts of gain for a NA.. get the rb header, and full exhaust

I wouldn't say insane amount of gains, but a nice header/presilencer/catback setup will gain you about 20/25more HP, and w/ cone filter, TB mod, and ported manifolds, you'll get about another 5 to 8 hp...so intake & exhaust will put a s4 NA up to about 160/165 hp, and a s5 up to about 180/185. Then tune the fuel perfectly and maybe some underdrive pulleys w/ an efan...and you can get another 5/10..

I had 177 on my S4 NA w/ intake, tb mod, no cats, cone filter, FPR, and a few other lil things...but I had shitty clutch and tires too...

200hp is possible on stock block NA, just takes all the bolt ons and a knowledgeable tuner.

i know that NAs do fairly well on the rice seen.

i have a GXL with 4.3 rear, no air pump or cats

i run faster than stock GTI VR6 until mid thrid gear (no torque)

blow most stock civics away

took a new vtec prelude Auto

it depends on drivers mostly
