I was at the gas station filling my wifes '00 Mustang GT vert up with gas. This kid pulls in with a Civic with a full combat body kit and duel exhaust , he takes the other side of my pump.



Just as I finish he says to me "Hey want to race me from a red light for $100. I look at him and say "with this??" he says yes.



I loook back at my car then look at his. I then say "Normally I would say yes but you are too eager to race me which makes me think you probably have a B-16 swap and a lot of NOS. I will tell you what though I have an RX-7 at home which is 5 minutes from here, I will gladly go get it and race you for $200."



He didn't want to race anymore. He at that point realized I know a little about imports and couldn't fool me.



It turns out I was on the money. He has a J-spec B-16 and a 150 shot of nos. He is probably pushing 350-400 hp. He claims he runs the 1/4 in the high 13's. He says most mustang and camaro guys jump at the chance to race and he gets lots of money that way.



I would have lost in my Mustang. I would have kicked his *** in my TII even with a bad launch.



So I saved myself a hundred dollars. Sometimes there is a fast ricers. I would say 1 out of every 20 or 30 are fast.

350 to 400HP in a civic should put him a lot lower in the 1/4 then a high 13! He NEEDS NOS just to get those numbers, lol...must suck. Good call though, and good judgment. Back in my streetracing days(which are now postponed til next spring/summer due to arrest, jail time, etc, lol) I did run into a few guys who had quick civics...normally when you get into the bigger cities where the pay is better and mommies & daddies can hook 'em up w/ what ever they want.



It would have been funny though if he took you up on the rx7. What do you have in your T2?

I am not totally sure he had all the mods he claimed. I tried to get him to pop the hood and he wouldn't. But..he was all too willing to brag about all his mods.

if he is running a b-16 form japan 160 hp + the 25 or so from headders and exh and intake. if he had any of that..then the 150. around 330 hp..but still a one leg dog..he spent way too much cash on a turd...in japan hondas are chick cars or poor ppl cars...the only reasion some tuners are doing hondas is because the know how big the market is here and canada..the tune a few and get the cash...easy formula Honda+cash=sucks

gotta love how even a ricer (cockey) who has something is afraid of the RX-7, anyone know how the 2nd gen N/A's fair against the ricers? I havent done much racing in mine, seeing as I still have my learners permit.
