the biggest problem with any 3000gt or stealth is handling. In a strait line there pretty fast for a stock car but u start adding too much power and that trans is going to go out. (im not talking a catback and intake im saying upgraded turbos ecu yadda yadda yadda)

3000GT doesn't run quarter mile in 13.5 try 14's. The 3000GT sold for around the same price you would have paid for an FD,Supra, and 300zx brand new. DSM's hold up better than alot of imports and domestics. They have bulletproof motors and weak transmissions. I would know I have a 97 Eclipse GSX and a friend of mine has a VR4.

Ehhh...screw it. You guys are killin me.

Overweight - Yep. 3671-3803 lbs. You can loose a couple hundred pounds pretty easily though. My Stealth weighs roughly 3352 lbs and I even have a 56 lb chromoly rollbar. It still has A/C too BTW...colder than my FD or my Scion. All the other amenities like power eveything (except antenna) and a 6-disc changer and amp.

Looks? Yeah...I think the FD has them beat there. Can't argue with that.

Performance? 94+'s have been tested to 13.4-13.5 in the quarter by the mags. Mine went 13.51 when it was bone stock other than a K&N and I wasn't even at sea level. Many other people I know have run 13.5's. On the other hand unless you actually launch it like you mean it then you'll be staring a 14 second timeslip.

Glass transmissions? Way to regurgitate incorrect info you heard from some other moron. 91-92.5's have 18 spline output shafts. They can strip with enough power. 91-93's have aluminum transfer cases. They can shatter with enough power. 94+'s have 25 spline output shafts and iron transfercases. The 94+ driveline is tough as hell. Need proof? I cut 1.55 60's on four 275/35/18 drag radials with a RPS Carbon Carbon twin disc clutch and a 6000 RPM launch. I have made HUNDREDS of passes since 1999 and the car has ALWAYS left the track under its own power.

Handling? Stock they're not bad...right in there with the other cars of its time. Add some coilovers and loose some weight and they do VERY well on a road course. AWD does wonders to allow an average Joe look like an Andretti.

And what happens when you go hard into a corner and accelerate to 30mph?? And lets not forget that (stock vs. stock) a fwd model will outrun the awd model in a top speed run..

Yeah they can get to be pretty fast when modified. But they're still HUGE cars with cheap looking interior.
