Well considering that the 03Cobra is stock it is a very powerful machine. The 03 Cobra already ran 10's 1/4 mile with a stock bottom end (just like the Supra). The 05Cobra is in production 400+HP stock. Just imagine what this car is capable of. The 03 Cobra's record of 10's 1/4 was done with a simple bolt-ons:

1.) Stock SC pulley was replace to increase boost

- mind you that Kenne Bell SC sells kit for the 03 Cobra that will increase the HP to 700 using a stock bottom end.

2.) nitrous shot 80

3.) diablo chip ( race program)

4.) better transmission

5.) good tires.

The record was done by a convertible 03 Cobra ( heavier than regular Cobras)

Thumbs down

Well, actually the Mustang SVO(Turbocharged 4 cylinder) late 80's & the Ford Merkur turbo broke 10's at the track with stock Bottom end. I bet lots of import guys don't know that. Both cars don't weight much that's why they were capable of 10's with turbo upgrades. Like I said in some of my previous post. The big advantage of owning both Import & Domestic sports car is you get to know lots of facts on boths side rather than being onesided. . Oh!! by the way I'm half Filipino. Kamusta Pare!!

I coulda guessed. You have an answer to everything.

Care to provide the proof? If your gonna go spouting off about how much better the mustang is at least provide links to the info you claim to know. If you are just interested in hanging out here, posting **** like "I bet most import guys dont know this" Isnt going to make you any new friends.

Ok well first off, My car will smoke yours, With a ported engine and a decent turbo. I have seen Rx-7's break 8 seconds. So i am failing to see why you think the Mustang is superior. Secondly Im not an IMPORT guy!! Im an Rx-7 guy. BIG difference.

Tell us again how stupid we all are Im sure it's gaining you alot of respect in here.

i don't think his intention was to come off like that, so maybe you kinda took it the wrong way??? Anyway as much as i love 7s i have to say that for a dedicated drag car using a mustang is a far better idea. Think of how many shops have 9 and 8 second mustangs compared to how many 9 and 8 second 7s there are out there. Its really not even possible to compare. There were mustangs running fast as hell before rx7s even existed and considering its been 10 years since you could even buy a 7 in the states but you can still buy a new mustang that comes stock with 400hp they must be doing something right. I don't consider myself an import/domestic/or any other type of guy. I'm a car guy, i appreciate cars for what they are capable of regardless of where they are made. We're comparing apples to oranges here, obviously oldschool has an interest in 7s or else he wouldn't have come on here anyway. In closing, don't dismiss a car because most of the owners are all business in the front but party in the back.

Man, sorry if you took it the wrong way I am not saying that mustang is the fastest or the best car in the world although they ran 6's 1/4 way back in the 60's. Anyway, like my previous post me an my brother own both domestic and import sport cars. My brother has a 93 RX7 & 95 Z28. I have a 98 Cobra SC & 89 MKIII Supra. I love RX7 fast and very agile in the corners. Like I said before it's good having both cars domestic & import. You get to know a lot about the cars performance and history. I bet you guys didn't even know that Mercedez Benz has a prototype rotary engine in their car in the 70's. Corvette also made a prototye rotary engine back in the 70's. I love cars whether it's domestic or import.

If you meant no ill intent then um sorry, but quit assuming that we dont know the **** you know. Its annoying!

Business in the front, party in the back. Otherwise known as the 10/90

I agree that Mustangs are more reliable, but I also think that they are way over rated. Thats my opinion, let me have it will ya.
