I was wondering how much skylines cost in Japan? R32's.. R33's.. R34's.. I'm not really sure what types there are.. And what's the best engine.. the RB26DETT, RB25DETT, or the RB30DETT? How much does it cost to get one shipped to the USA plus other papers and **** that have to be filled out? Are skylines even worth it? thanks alot

Eric

there is not such thing as a rb25dett and an Rb30 turbo you have to make at alot of expense cuz the rb30 was only sold in australia and was not turbo.

The best is the RB26DETT of course.

Who knows how much it costs for you guys.... we live in japan.

SOHC RB30's were sold in gasoline Nissan trucks here in Japan also. When an RB26DETT head is mated to an RB30 block it becomes an RB30DETT. OS Giken also sells a deck riser that turns an RB26 into an RB30 if you add the correct parts. "TT" = Twin turbo so only the RB26DETT and VG30DETT get that monicker from the factory. If you know the right people in Japan you can score R32 GTR engine/tranny/drivetrain parts for chump change. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683473.gif

Oh my fault, I thought there was a RB25 engine.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif So, none of you guys could score me one for cheap? https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png Perferably a R33 GTR with the RB26DETT. Definately the twin turbo model.. What year models came with the VG30DETT? See I want something to drive around in.. but has some power and can seat four.. but I'd rather have the 2 door model.. I've thought about buying a 300ZX (maybe the 2+2 model) and putting a RB26DETT engine in it.. just for kicks..

You're getting hung up on the nuances of Nissan's engine naming conventions. There are no RB25DETT's. But in the RB engine family there are some called RB25DE and RB25DET. All the letters on the righthand side of the engine designation mean something. Adding one too many "T"'s or adding/omitting other letters will cause confusion. If you want good answers, ask good questions. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...#>/biggrin.png

Just buy your self a WRX, skylines suck and when you break engine parts where are you going to get replacment ones? or when sombody side swipes your fender where are you going to find one? etc.. If you want a nissan you'd be better off picking up a 240sx and converting it to a SR20....

JT-Imports 05-18-2003 06:58 AM

I like the R34 personally, but would never buy it due to it being $$$$

WHY???? Would you pick a R33, Ive talked to over 50 or so people in the states that are into skylines and also everyone says they are cool.

They are PUTRID..... Is it because it was in Fast and Furious?

Ranzo 05-19-2003 01:43 AM

Skylines are like 300z's ..they have lots of good parts in them but the total package is pretty useless.

Nissan in General is pretty weak as far as structure and quality design. It appears that you already have a FD....what more could you want??

If you must have a RB then I would take the RB25........the 26 is a 4wd config which makes everything difficult. The RB20 is weak dick as hell.....you would hate it. The RB25 has the best flowing heads of all the RBs and the blocks are all the same........so The RB 25 wins for ease of installation and cheapest to make and abundance of power on. You can pick one up in japan for all different prices you just gotta shop around. I could get one for cheap but most people pay on average about 1500 to 2000 dollars.

Sorry guys.. I didn't know all the nissan engine names and ****.. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...1047683358.gif anyways.. my FD has everything I need when it comes to performance.. but I was wanting a car that I could daily drive and not care too much about, but still have the power I want.. so, that's why I thought about the skyline.. I mean, if I can get a skyline for 1500-$2K.. why not get one? Plus, the AWD factor may help in bad weather conditions.. That's why if I got a skyline.. I would definately get a AWD model.. As for the parts thing.. yea, that does make a problem.. but are these vehicles very pron to breaking and ****?
