Kevin is partly right. We hit a snag along the way. If the doors were to be covered in Leather they wouldnt have been able to open or close right. We tried The old carpet is still in the car but he put new black carpet over the old stuff so it is super soft on the inside. But it causesd another problem. You couldn't push the accellerator down all the way cause their was too much carpet. So he cut the old carpet out from under the pedals. The Doors are actually covered with interior paint. It feels and looks like the tan did except blue. It doesn't scratch either. Everything turned out okay except for alot of little things. The side steps along the doors are going to have to be replaced because he covered that with leather and it is hard for the doors to open and close. So I plan on getting the metal ones that some of our sponsers sell but they cost moola and now I am broke! The healiner I am told was also pianted but you cant even tell. The Sunroof also is painted. Alot of the plastic trim pieces are also painted with the same paint but it chips whenever you touch it.

I am not as happy with the job after I had it done. The guy only did a good job on the seats and Doors. I am not paying the full 1k for many reasons. He did not cover everything with leather and that was what I wanted. I wanted the back bins covered but instead he painted them. He broke my seatbelt thingies when he tried to put black ones in and now I have multi colored ones. Half black and half tan. On the passenger side he broke the mechanism so it doesn't even come out. Instead of "dying" some of the pieces he spray painted them. The sun-flaps look like crap, the sunroof liner isn't "dyed" on the outside so you see tan when it is open. He tried to paint the seat belt clips with what looks to be like magic marker. And many other things that **** me off. If I would have known he was gonna spray everything then I would have done it myself. I am going to talk to him tomorrow abot it and see what he says.

I bet the guy who wanted to charge you $1450 would have

done a job that you would have been happier with.

I dont get why people cant spray plastic and vinyl right?

It isnt hard, I guess some people are either lazy or just plain

stupid?

I strongly agree with you. The only problem was I only had 1k. I would have gone with the other guy because he had a "vision" for my car. He had 2 second gens in his lot across the street and one of the employees drove a first gen. I know these were signs but he said it would be "AT LEAST" $1450 and I was afraid to go with him because of the price. Depending on what I end up paying for this job I might take it back to the other guy to see if he can do the smaller things right.

Sometimes its not always a good idea to go with the cheaper when

its all labor involved. I say this about paint jobs all the time.

The more expensive guy has probably done a few of them and knows

the amount of work and the attention to detail that a FD owner comes

to expect.

Hopefully things work out for you in the end, that other guy

may not be so eager to clean up someone else's dirty work.

This is why I want to do the stuff myself.
