What Do The Settings Mean On An Equalizer?
I could not find anything on it. The 60,170,310,600,1k,3k,6k,12k,14k,16k. I am confused. I am trying to find the best sound settings my for head unit. It has a built in equalizer(obviously). It has a custom setting. Just what the hell do they mean? Anyone?Anyone?
Thanks
Justin

frequencies in short
12k and above is more the type for symbols and crashes
600 to 3 are your midranges
and below are your sub ranges
depending on what type of music you listen to you would adjust for higher quality
rap is mostly lows and highs while jazz would be more of the mids and some highs and only a few lows
best advice is to go play with it at low volume and then crank it up when you get it where you want it
edit: and incase you are wondering 40Hz is the brown noise
send a loud enough 40 Hz tone at someone and they will loose bowel control

usually if you start out with the ones on the left up high, work your way to the middle ones in the middle, then work the ones on the left of the middle ones up again gradually it tends to sound the best.
then you can adjust the ones on the left lower if its too much lows or bass, and adjust the ones on the right lower if its too much treble or highs.
im thinking the head unit has pre-set ones though, use them

it does have pre-sets and the only one of them sounds decent, but not very well. i know my speakers can put out better sound. i just need to change the back ones. damned ford and there crazy 6x8" speakers. they made it simple with the fronts with 6.5".
oh, another question, would 6x9's fit in the same holes as the 6x8's? just have to re-drill some holes i suppose?

LOL, Who doesn't know how to adjust an eq?
Left two are bass, the mids are exactly that and the far right is the high freq/treble.
high bass, low mid and upward curve treble is a standard rock setting. Pop setting is about the opposite and jazz is in the middle.
