upgrade or repair the stock bose system?
#1
Over the weekend I purchased a new cd player for my car. When I went to get it installed the guy told me that the stock Bose system was unmatchable with just a cd player upgrade. He said I would have to rewire the entire car and would only be able to run the door speakers and rear speakers. I would loose the front center speaker and low end bass because the speakers would need to bypass their individual amps. He also said the sound quality would deminish. After re-thinking all of this, I decided to return the system I just bought, and keep the original intact. The reason I was thinking of replacing it was because the stock cd player had stopped working. Now I'm wondering if I can clean it out somehow. Or, maybe replace it with a factory cd player? Also, the right door speaker isn't working, but I think its a wire that had previously been snipped. I'll have to trace the wires later. Anyways, if anyone has any ideas/options, let me know. Thanks!

wow did not know that thanks for the info on bose but they are all working that i know of.. pretty sure its just a snipped wire because i checked the signal with a brand new speaker and it got no signal. the cd deck doesnt read cds anymore tho so ill probably have a local sound place take a look at it and see if they can clean it out. or maybe just order a new one from god knows where. hah. anyone selling a working stock bose cd player deck?
