I used Jayspec7's writeup to install the sparco seats to my stock sliders.



and i quote. . .



"Materials



1 Bar 1" x 1" x 12"

4 12mm bolts and nuts

12mm wrench

Locking washers

Measuring tape

Heavy duty cutting tool



Before starting the install, I measured out the distances of the bolts on the stock seats and Sparcos. I took the measurements and plotted then onto a piece of cardboard box.



From the cardboard template, I cut the bar into four 3" strips. Holes where then drilled 3/8" from the edge of each bar to accommodate the 12mm bolts. The holes need to be on two sides of the bar being diagonally across from each other, resulting in 2 holes per bar.



Each bar needed to be side cut for bolt clearance, the bars where install onto the new seats using this cut side and reusing the factory 12mm bolts. To ensure proper alignment, I used the cardboard template and measured out the mounting positions for the bars.





The stock rails where then bolted on using the new bolts, nuts and washers. The nuts will be inside the bar at this time, so you will need a 12mm open-end wrench to hold the nut in place while you tighten the bolt.



Next step is to mount the seats into the car. "





Now, jayspec7 says to take off both adjustment ***** on each side to make it fit. He is correct unless you want to modify the interior panel. I really wanted to have at least one adjustment **** per seat, so I cut my interior pannel so the **** would fit. It looks really cool because the seat slides back into the panel. You will see what I did when you see the pics.



At first i really didn’t want to hack up the panel. I feared it would look like crap. On the exposed parts i filed and sanded the cuts to make it look nice. I was very surprised by the result. It looks like it was made to be this way. With the seat installed, you can not see much of the cut i made. I do have to slide the seat forward to adjust it, but its better then no adjustment at all.



The Sparco harnesses were not a problem. I used the stock seatbelt mounting hole on the outside of the seat. For the inside i used the stock seatbelt reinforcement bar's mounting hole. I have a M2 harness/rear strut bar on its way.



My seats fit perfectly. They don’t even touch the door! All i had to do was make a few precision adjustments (with a 3lb sledge ) to the mounting brackets a few times to get it right.



I finished the job in about 6 hours for both seats, with seatbelts. It wasn’t as bad as i expected it to be.



And finally, they are sooo comfortable to sit in. They sit a little higher then the stockers, which inst a problem for me. They also hold you in the seat when taking a corner. I am very satisfied with the seats and highly recommend them.

On only the outside one. It was just too small to retain both, and I didnt want to cut that plastic by the tranny.



Im in frederick. The only problem i can find is that they sit a little higher then the stock seats. But that is the only thing.

Well, I've always wondered if black seats would look good with tan interior.. and, from the looks of your installation, it looks great. And should look just as good or better in a black FD.
