Small Rust Prob And Some Qs About Paint Jobs

i have a 89 na and its white....there is almost no rsut except some under the driver side door some on the black trim on the hatch and a verry tiny bit on the black stuff around the window o and the sunroof has 2 rust holes in it!...im most concerned about the sunroof...should i just bondo it and paint over it or what should i do?? and my paint is lookin a little tired soo i was thinkin new paint....how much would a decent paint job cost..im not talkin 250$ gayco job but i am also not talkin some 3k bust a nut job...just somthin inbetween...

you answered your own question about the paint job, you can
find one for the amount of money you want to spend, I wouldnt spend
less then $1500-$2000 though.
The rust needs to be addressed by either grinding it out and filling it,
welding in new pieces,sandblasting...there are too many different ways
to do it, it depends on the surface that needs repair and budget.

I am itching to do another RX-7 actually.
BigTurbo- I would perhaps invest $40-$50 into one of those
spot sandblasters for the rust. If the rust is on a panel that can be
changed- change it.
I dont care what any body guy says, once a panel has rust it
will rust again. Even if you weld in a new section it will end up
rusting at the welds. I want to try my hand at working with lead
like the old days.
They have panel bonding adhesives which wont rust , but are only good if the seam ends up getting covered by body side molding or something.
3M is the only one that I know of that will actually admit that bonded panles will infact end up shifting over time, which isnt a problem as long
the seam is hidden.
