I sell both original parts and replica parts so my opinion is objective. I make money on either parts anyway. I just hope your customer will be happy with the quality after they get the original Border products.
If people think a $3700 widebody kit is too expensive, I don't know who will buy the original off my hands for just $6500 after I am done with it. I am making a full carbon fiber replica so I don't need the original. I am going to make it in dry carbon so it will be at least twice as strong as the original. So which one has the higher quality now?? Would you pay $6500 for original fiberglass or $6500 for my dry carbon replica?

I cant believe people go to the trouble and so many hours of making a kit and not putting a patent on it. You realize how many hours it takes to make these kits from scratch?
The amount of time to make replicate one by making a mold from a existing one is time consuming enough, but to make one from drawings just to have someone copy it and sell it cheaper, its a shame. Thats why the original kits sell for what they sell for and the replicas are cheaper.
