I just tried to polish my lips for the first time this year,

the salt has oxidized them a bit and I have small pitting

on the lips. I had them polished by a pro last year and

they looked amazing



I had to keep them polished because

I basically park the car about 40 feet from the canal behind

my house. I just polished them in October, and didnt

touch them since, didnt drive the car either.



So how can I get those small pits out?

If it means sanding them and all that ****, nooooo thanks.

Should I just give back to the guy to freshen them up or what?

i think u need to use sand paper.



when deep grooved parts u need 400 grit to remove the surface irregularities

then 800



then 1600 or higher...



and then buffer wheel with polishing compound.



i think that is the correct way.



this is aluminum right?

aluminum yes, dont think I need to go drastic with 400 grit, I just

do not feel like sanding and polishing these things.



Bad enough it takes like 20-30 minutes with Simichrome alone

let alone sanding them too, lol.

well i had some advice from the "bling king" a while ago when i was polishing my wheels........ he said to use the polish with steel wool to get rid of small imperfections.



i think sanding down any part of the wheel will mess up the balance of the wheel........ so dont do it

can't you have it powdercoated after polishing, so it will last..

if not look for aproduict called zoop seal.. it is supposed to protect polished stuff pretty well..

I should have asked the bling king about the rims today

when I seen him at Rotorfest, but I compleatly forgot.

rob, y don't u try adding clear coat over the polished peices?



question is, will clear coat stick?

I have some kind of polishing attatchments for my

die grinder, but its still hard to polish them with it.



whats a goblet attatchment?
