how much would something like that cost for a body shop to do? Just curious.
thier guy doing something like that. Something like that would take me
the better part of a day to do
When I had a detail shop though a buff job like that would run about $150-200.
Now I wouldnt even do that for someone unless they were a good friend or
I had nothing else to do that day. If I spend my day off doing glass work and
paint/gel coat on a boat I make alot more money.
Right now is a tough time for me, I come home about 8:00 at night, have about
1/2 hour or so to play around on here, then its off to bed. Some life I have.
Some write ups will be coming, I promise.

k rob, that was a lot of info, let me review. Yes you were correct in that there is hardly any paint left on it. Some areas are very rough and bumpy. Anyway i have my hands on a quality buffer with variable speeds and a friend with expirence with it. SO... 3M microfinishing comp. at 2300 rpm, then 3m perfect-it III machine glaze, then perfect-it finishing glaze, followed by a good waxing.... right? I don't care about time cuz i want the best possible outcome, but what about price? am i going to be forced into buying rediculous amounts of materials for a somewhat small requirement to get the job done? anymore comments are encouraged...

if you have a friend who does detailing he may have a line of
products he uses and can maybe hook you up with enough to
do a car, which isnt alot at all. To buy all those chemicals and
pads your looking over $100 easy.
For a single stage red car with little paint on it you might want to
consider going with a polish, then a wax. If you have access
to Auto Magic products in your area I would highly reccomend
Auto Magic BC Magic. Its a polish, then go with a hand waxing
While it wont give you nearly the finish of the 3M process, it
might be better if you have very little paint left.
