I got my car back from the body shop yesterday....here are a few pics of the new AbFlug front bumper. The car is a bit dirty in the pics and is sitting up like a 4x4 due to the motor sitting on the floor next to it. She will be back on the streets in a few weeks finally....she has been down since 9-28-02.

My new motor.....

FikseRxSeven 03-16-2003 04:36 PM

damn man, you're making me so anxious to get my car back from the body shop

rxtacy 03-16-2003 08:40 PM

wow, nice bumper. is that an opening for the radiator i see?

vosko 03-16-2003 08:43 PM

looks good!

From what I had read on a few Japanese sites regarding AbFlug's kits is that the top slit was used for radiator airflow....wether it is true, who knows. But, with my FMIC, my radiator does sit up taller and more vertical and I can see it through that slit so it has to help at least a little bit. I liked the function of the bumper and I thought it looked more Japanese than alot of the kits which to me almost look Americanized, like the FEED Type II. I love that front end but when I see it I see an American FD instead of a Japanese FD so I went with a little bit more of that crazy Japanese look without going over the top, I thought. I was unsure at first when I got it, but the more I see it, the more I like it.

I give mad props to Chuck at Rotary Extreme for such a great fitting kit. The lines are awesome...I will get some better pics of how well it all lines match up with the fender, headlights, and hood. Miuch better than that Pink car that I had first saw with the kit...I am not a fan of that car. Thanks for the compliments everyone, now I need to get my motor put in and get her on the road again.

Maybe you should put little red lights in their and tryout for the new nightrider show!

Yeah I like the function of the slit for the radiator when using fmic's. I bet you could put together a duct that would really help to utilize the slit in the bumper.

Looks good man. I should be getting my FD back from the body shop this week. But, I won't be getting a new motor though..

wow, thats a hell of an idea......... a rotary engined KIT

damn, and he can be david hasselloff

lane_change 03-16-2003 11:29 PM

The difference is that Kit likes to chit-chat and my car just likes to get down to business....

I smell one of those gay ass Hasslehoff and Webster Pics....please no!!!

I do like the Japanese look..once I get my RE AD-9 hood on it, it will look even better. Should be this summer along with some wheels and tint.

rx7machine 03-16-2003 11:40 PM

The RE 9 hood would look good on your car. I was trying to debate between that one and the scoot hood.. but, decided to just keep the stock hood for now..

can you post pics of those hoods, cuz i am not familiar with one of the hoods,

i know the scoot hood, is nice, a lil too much for my taste though

but they're really nice, specially the carbon fiber ones (rotary extreme sells it)

Here is a pic of the RE-AD 9 hood. It is alot like the Scoot but without the snout on it. I like it alot better and I think it will flow nicely with the AbFlug front end.

Check the vented hoods section of the 3rd gen threads. There should be a pic of the scoot hood in there somewhere.

Yea, it looks pretty cool.

I'd put some of that black metal mesh in the slit to give it a more "sleek" appearance. That way you don't see a bright piece of aluminum right in the middle of the bumper....if that makes any sense.

JimmyJimboJet 03-17-2003 07:04 PM

looks good. https://www.nopistons.com/forums/pub...IR#>/bigok.gif

btw, how close are you to omaha?

lane_change 03-17-2003 07:55 PM

I live about 1.5 hours East of Kansas City which is about 2.5 hours south of Omaha? I am not sure how far KC is to Omaha but I am guessing that I live about 4-5 hours from Omaha.

I thouhgt about the mesh....I guess I'll see how I like it once the motor is in and driving before I worry about looks for now. My car was hit last Sept. that is why I even got a new front bumper, it was a real light hit, but none the less, Insurance was buying me a new bumper.
