I would go for ease of use and features, personlly Sony has never failed me, I have a sony head unit and ch chager for 11 years now, I took it out of my car a few years ago just to get something new, I never had one break, and I have probably owned a dozen of them or so. I just got thier new RF unit MP3 changer for my Lexus, thing is great.

Dude you want the pioneer cuz you want the pretty screen dont lie..... You want to put the gauge one up so you can tell people its tied into your motor and this is how you watch the system work.... .....And then when no one is looking your going to watch the merry go round one and giggle like a school girl....... Just playing that unit is a good unit so far ive sold tons already this year.......

300w will be too much for one sub, especially bridged. then, if it were a higher end sub like a power he2 or something like that, you will be drowning your high end drivers.
get a 300 watt 4 channel amp, and now you are talking. bridge it half on teh subs and then put the other half on the new sony highs that you have....you will definately need to amplify those, beyond the tuner, as the power will be more true and clean. you also want to find a head unit that has at least a 4 volt pre out, and 2 pairs of rca cables that come out of the rear. it would also be nice for that unit to have a sub-woofer volume conrtol....

Yeah the one I got has 3 sets of outputs @4 volts and independent sub volume.
So your saying 4 channel amp...bridge 2 channels to the sub and run the other 2 channels to the other 4 speakers in the car?

kenwood has some of the worse controls. im more into kenwood, they are easy layout and nice design. as for the amp i would go with a rockford fosgate and anything over 200 for a kicker is fine, just let ur head unit control ur speakers. or get another amp for ur speakers

I've heard bad things about the sony's also. I searched around on some stereo forums. Don't remember exactly though.
I got the Pioneer premier 740mp. Its a sweet *** unit. Can't wait to hook it up.
For now I'm just gonna run the sony speakers on the HU. Eventually I'll get an an amp to run the sub.
Should I run 1- 4 channel for the speakers and sub?
